That’s a pretty elaborate way to say “I’m completely colorblind”

Depressing. My 2 year old can paint better than this.

Is it supposed to be My Pet Monster?

You just reminded me of what this reminds me of! Those ceramic party places that late-90’s kids used to have birthdays at. Every kid got to choose a piece, paint it, and it’d be fired by the end of the party. It was like the predecessor of wine party painting. Some kids had a good grasp of painting, like the frog is painted green, the cow has spots... and then there were the kids who used every color near them, and they turned out like this piece of crap.
    ...damn, I miss the 90’s.

It's just a Super Dino Monster they painted, right? Not like it's an M1GO blank.

Yeah but the pic is stamped with the “artist’s” name. I looked it up; looks like a 3D sculpting person. Couldn’t find this pic anywhere tho. Regardless of what the toy is, why would you put your stamp on this mess?

Damn this brought me back, loved going to those when I was younger. Too bad they aren't around anymore, those ceramics would've been a great alternative to rare vinyl toys for these "customizers" to ruin

Does that matter? Shitty paint is shitty paint. I collect the Super Dino line and winced when I saw this ineptitude.

Everyone has their sacred cows, I guess. If I see a blank from M1GO, Marusan Bullmark, B-Club, etc., a sculpt that evokes the style of vintage kaiju from a maker that I collect, and the painter didn't do something with it that also evokes that vintage spirit, then I'm probably not going to like it. I don't really care about a rubber bootleg being treated like that.

Fair enough, I see what you mean. I just hate to see any toy covered in someone's misguided vanity project. I wish they'd just sod off and get a proper hobby.

They do still exist! Just type in "ceramics painting near me" in a Google search, and they should pop up. Some of the ones near me that have multiple locations are: "Color Me Mine," "Ceramics for You," and "The Painted Penguin." But there are a lot more than that.

I went to "Ceramics for You" with my daughter in 2019. It was pretty fun. With covid, these places are even sending you home with kits to paint at home and bring back so they can fire them. (I get emails from them, lol.)

I don't hate this thing but i don't like it much either. It reminds me of the Mechacreatch - so in my mind, its bollocks. At the very least its fugly.
