I think this could actually be salvageable, but there is just no excuse for the lazy proportioning [to account for a pre-existing head]. If that was intentional he needs an extra 'mask' head like the vintage toku heroes.

Yes, thats my main problem with it. Also, this trend of super chunky figures is already getting a bit old to me. Why does so much modern sofubi have to be bulky lumps?

A different head would’ve been better, but not into the hulk godzilla idea. Seems like it could be cool in-hand as far as the feel. Is this 3-D sculpted ? Seemed so. I don’t know much about that—but it’s kind of a turn-off for me if they didn’t do it by hand themselves. I think of Gargamel and how Kiyoka sculpted a Bako in a video from years ago. I admire the time and effort people put into taking a lump of sculpting material and realizing their imagination to it.

It’s not always a hard stop, but I have my hang ups about using a software program to do it. I love tkom designs, but some of the love was lost once I found that he didn’t sculpt the pieces the old-fashioned way. Holding them wasn’t like holding a zag with guts.

Not really a fugly thing, but it doesn’t help when some of the fugly stuff is computer-sculpted.

It's supposed to be a Godzilla/King Kong hybrid, which has been done many times, and much better.

If it were in sponge rubber, it'd be a nifty tub toy though. He'd see places he never imagined.

I kinda like it, but the head is definitely too small. I do want to get the Alien / Godzilla mashup that was previewed. I imagine that ones going to end up here though.

You know, a little while back, I posted this on Facebook and a decent amount of people got upset, but it's toys like this I was referring to, haha.

Can we really blame marusan for that? It's pretty accurate to the original.
