I didn't find another thread for this, but let me know if I missed it. Tickets for the one night US showing of Shin Kamen Rider went on sale today. Screening is May 31st. https://www.fathomevents.com/events/Shin-Kamen-Rider
I got my tickets from fathom a couple weeks back. They went up when they went up for amc. I never recieved a notice from fathom. Guess no one else did either.
I think I saw something on Instagram that they went on sale today. I was able to grab a good seat, but yeah it looks like people had already bought tickets. No idea how popular this will be, but I didn't want folks to miss out. I've really enjoyed the other two Shin films. Fingers crossed this one lives up to the others.
Who went? Did you enjoy? Went with my kid and we both enjoyed very much. Was surprised at the number of people in attendance, too! Generally had a much better experience of this one than our last Shin outing, Shin Ultraman.
Enjoyed this so much but was thrown off with how it opens straight into a fight. The re designs are great, loved the face markings and the simple explanations for them. Kamen Rider smashing enemies to a pulp was fun and surprisingly not over the top. Hope they do a sequel!
Went with my wife and kids. Really enjoyed the chance to catch it in theaters. I thought it was fun and charming. And BRUTAL! Spoiler My favorite Aug was Mantis/Chameleon, although I really enjoyed Wasp-Aug’s design/aesthetic and fight scene. Bat-Aug was also hilarious and my daughters favorite.
Guess I'm in the minority. I felt pretty disappointed by the movie. There are some great ideas and sequences that really had the showa spirit, but they get lost in the bad pacing. Without getting into spoilers, I think there are elements that could have been better utilized or left out completely. What's good is really good. The actors did a great job. Most of the costumes are great. Some genuinely good dialogue and development, though I think that could have been a lot better and had more impact if the film didn't try to be 10 episodes smashed together. I'm at a solid 5/10. I definitely believe Anno loves Kamen Rider and he let his own Anno-ness get in the way of knocking it out of the park.
There's going to be a second showing on the 6th, I think? Check Fathom. I enjoyed it, I had some issues, will post something longer later but one question... Spoiler That was Robot Detective K, right?
I had a blast! I loved the look of it thought they handled the story well and was more then ready to see a part 2. A solid Rider film would watch again.
uh...i'm in the minority here, but i thought it sucked. it felt like they were just making it up as they went along. i love the kamen rider concept, but i was so bored. i like kamen rider 2, but didn't get why they use subjects that betray shocker so easily. let's use a guy who is wrecklessly good to join our evil team. why not just use the henchmen? 4 out of 5 get punched through their skulls, and the 5th one still charges in? recruit THAT guy for super prana powers for SHOCKER shit. they don't talk your ear off and they're 100% down.
