ive spent 100 on a pair of jeans. tempted to spend more than 100 on some other brands. never did it yet though. thing about higher quality jeans is that they fit better and if you get dry ones, they'll look sick after a while.

ive had these for a year, and washed em like 5 times

Interesting I never found this thread. Jeans (well maybe coats and shoes also) are the one clothing item I splurge on. I can't deal with cheap ill fitting jeans.

When I lived in NYC I use to get only Diesel Jeans. The fit was so perfect and like Muton said they were still made in Italy. This was when Diesel also made decent well designed clothes for a time (1999-2002). For some reason I can never throw any of them away (probably because I remember dropping serious coin on them), no matter how old they are or patched up they are (Diesel Jeans are infamous for knee and crotch blow outs). I still own my first pair and wear them often in summers. Fanker I think they were called. Great for bike riding. Later I moved on to X- Rotucks, Zaf, then finally Zathans. I remember the prices just going up an up an up... starting $125-149 and last pair I bought was $200 I think and that was at least 2 years ago. These days I've moved on to Levi's. I have a toy habit and they cost much less. I like the Hesher line but accidentally got a Raw Demin pair and they practically ruined my suede Clarks. I often wonder what's out there these days jean-wise that I'd like? Never got into that super tight skinny tapered jean fad but I don't like them even slightly baggy either. Puts me in an odd place looking...

I have been wearing the same air of Iron Hearts everyday since June with a day off here and there. I have a few other pairs of IHs as well. Great fits and amazing quality.

I think my next pair will be a pair of Tellasons. I want to start supporting more USA made brands that emphasize quality.

    fashion shit thread?!?!?!

nudie jeans - dry organic denim- look good, wore mine everyday for 2 years and through touring as a drummer- washed twice = a ton of rips in the crotch and now i have a big rip in the knee but it looks alright. dont wear them a lot.

nice winter weight jean- APC- french company, a little looser fit- sturdy denim
i also wear a pair of good society- some medium weight denim with a lower pricepoint. still dry denim, still look rad after 3 years of wearing.

summer jeans- cheap monday all the way!

dress pants- levis 508- love the fit on these. looser crotch, still a nice taper down the leg.

i wear a 29/34 so its tough for me to find jeans i love

invest in an expensive pair of pants and take care of them- they will mold to your body and age lines will fit perfectly with you. yeah! i love clothing!!!!!

also i love my pendleton x levis trucker jacket

got a pair of 505 made in the usa rigid selvedge from Levi's over the black friday 40% off sale.

love em, but when i where them i always put a towel down on the leather seats in my car so they don't stain em.

who cares about peoples furniture :)

If you want to support USA made jeans, but not go the raw denim route, Thvm makes great jeans that are relatively inexpensive for what you're getting. I love the black pair of jeans I got from them... but I love my Acne Max Cash more.

I might have to order a pair from Thvm! Thanks for the recommendation Winu!
I, myself, am addicted to expensive jeans. Though my max cap is $120 or so. Clearance rack at Nordstroms can be a good find sometimes. Its the only real clothing item that I will drop of couple of bucks on for quality. I never understood it at first, I was one that bought jeans from Old Navy or whatnot, but when you finally find that perfect pair and maybe spend $150, there is nothing like it. And most of them last much longer, fit is better, and all around makes ya feel good. ;)
I'm a sucker for vintage fades, and I have horrible patience in trying to get a raw pair to wear down and build its own character. I usually go for Diesel or Buffalo, but I've been trying to find a good, raw pair that I can work on.
I also have been trying to wash my jeans less, even though they have been washed/fade process already, like the Diesel ones, but I try to wear them down from there. But I think I ruined my new pair by washing a light-tumble dry. Sometimes my OCD gets the best of me.
I need to stock up on Febreze.

I haven't bought denim/jeans in years. I took a kind of hint from Henry Rollins and wear either gray shorts or black pants. Thats all. Let me tell you make life super easy. Now I just need to give up my t-shirt addiction and I'm golden.

Resurrecting this thread because I finally bought my first pair of selvedge jeans at Blue Owl in Seattle when I visited. Like most people I started with a decent intro pair of Naked & Famous Left Hand Twills (which are nice mid to low range in price). I got the Weird Guy fit because I have pretty athletic legs but I wonder what Skinny Guy fit is like since these stretched a little? I have to say the guys at Blue Owl are top notch in service, niceness, and knowledge. Totally hemmed the jeans in store for me and the place is like the Fort Knox of Japanese Denim. I'm not into that whole cuffed look but I have to admit cuffing looks good with boots.

Everything said to me in Blue Owl and earlier posts here are true. Selvedge jeans are the way to go! I don't think I can ever go back to regular jeans again. They may feel odd when you first pull a pair on (stiff stiff denim) but they soon soften and mold themselves to your body shape. So fucking durable and comfortable. Like a second skin. I find myself constantly peeping for another pair now. Some of these Japanese selvedge jean brands can cost up to $600 clams! Mine were only $140 but worth every dime.

that Bread Denim company seems to be nonexistent more or less since the creation of this thread. i never really wear denim, but i can understand it's appreciation. i prefer a pair of nice corduroy pants. i picked up a really well fit pair of black Dior corduroy for 30$ "sale item price" at wasteland a few months back, lol.

I didn't wear jeans for about 15-20 years, then got into denim via cheap selvedge, kept looking for a nice, understated pair of Japanese pants and finally found Big John. Never looked back. Their style, craftsmanship and attention to detail are unparalleled imo. Keep an eye out for their sales, last two pairs of amazing 13.5oz. denim I snagged cost me $75 each including shipping from Japan and 19% customs fees.

Btw: The whole "BUT YOU CAN'T WASH THEM FOR A YEAR!!!" thing is total bullshit. Doing so will only result in your precious denim wearing down MUCH quicker because it's softened by all the grime rubbing off you. Seeing a year-old, $200+ destroyed pair of jeans with crotch blow-out that the owner considers "well-worn in" and proudly posts on the Internet never fails to crack me up.
