Anyone heard about the ETA of the Sasakama? Orig it was last month. Should we petition to get rid of the eyebrows on the drunk boys or just be grateful they aren't monobrows?
I kind of want to see that now, with a thin little mustache too. I dunno. I just think the yellow DB's mouth is too lipstick red. Maybe it's because the red spray is on yellow, and gives it a bit of an orangish look. Who knows. Either way, I think I'm just fishing for reasons not to like it so I don't buy it... Kind of broke right now. Now minigoga... That's something I'm really excited about! Here's to hoping it's affordable.
Not sure how I feel about Anraku doing licensed toys; hard to tell from that pic, but the Mothra larvae don't seem to have any particular Anraku-ish qualities (i.e. crazy texture) at first glance. Curious to see what he's got lined up...
I too have kept back from most of the releases, primarily because of the prices. I expect to make an exception for the Mothra. No texture needed. It looks otherwordly and minimal while being giant: just classic. Still, it's early days. I'm anyway glad they have found a mutually beneficial arrangement even if it's usually above what I'm willing to pay.

I am liking what I've seen of the sasakama bikuchi. I think they turned out great. The drunk boys look cool too. I like the female character. Is that also AA?

If they have, then Medicom please oh please tone down those eyebrows! And you will have winners with both of those DB colorways. Very interesting that Anraku is venturing into licensed waters...those giant Mothra larvae are exactly the kind of thing I'd spend my duckets on anyhow so it doesn't bother me. It does feel strange though, after being a pachi style maker for this long.
So did the blue one turn out purpler than what was previewed? I've seen it purplish in quite a few photos now. I swore it was teased as a more garamon type colorway. I got the red and am very pleased with how he turned out!
Just dark blue, no purple hue or anyting, must be the lighting. Its exactly the same blue as the medicom goga. The saskas are much tighter in paint than the pre productions wich looked a little messy in my opinion...
Wow, the Sasas do look quite phenomenal! Definitely "cleaner" in terms of paint application compared to the mock ups. I liked the red one more back then, but seeing the final pieces makes me more partial to the blue... Funny how that works.
I went with the blue Sasakama, the face seemed less "honeycombed" to me and I just prefer brighter colors, the alt seemed too muddy red for my tastes. Eyes pop more on the blue even if they're dots. I did go digging for alternatives and found this insane one-off (from what I understand) owned by a friend who isn't up here much these days. Would love to see this in a group photo with that clear Medicom Goga.
