Most of my original movie poster collection is kaiju. But here are a few movie posters that are not.

The Return of the living Dead one's pretty iconic.

I have to take issue with that Great White tagline, though.:

"A quiet, restful summer in the lazy coastal town of Port Harbor is abruptly about to end."

Would sound a lot less awkward as:

"A quiet, restful summer in the lazy coastal town of Port Harbor is about to abruptly end."

Is that just me? Should I get some sleep or something?

Apologies for the double post, but it's been at least 24 hrs (24 hrs and no one's got my back on the Great White tagline thing? Why do I even pay you people!?)

Anyway, ran across this pretty great poster for the very funny What We Do in the Shadows:

Well, I do agree with you on the tagline, but can't really see it as a shock either. All it really tells me is that there has been bad writing and grammar as long as there has been copy.

What We Do in the Shadows was excellent. I sing its praise with glee. And I am excited for the next project as well.

    Sweet vindication at long last!

I should be psyched for their upcoming Wolves picture, too, but I'm really just nervous 'cause I loved WWDITS so much.

I concur - What We Do In The Shadows is a fun watch. Wasn't aware of a sequel on the horizon. That's awesome! I would love to see it become a regular series.
    "Doppelgangers" is Now Available!

Thanks again @ultrakaiju for the heads-up.

You can't just refer to it as the "upcoming Wolves picture" when it has such a great title! C'mon - We're Wolves!

I was trying to avoid reliving the shame of having had to have had the wordplay of it pointed out to me. But you've seen to that :|

"having had to have had"? wtf there's got to be a better way to say that...

You guys are probably well aware that Taika Waititi is directing the next Thor film. I am very hopeful that he will help continue the trend of those Marvel movies leavening the action with a good dose of humor (fuck those DC grimshows :p). My fingers are also crossed for a Rhys Darby or Jemaine Clement cameo, or both!

I was not aware, much less "well aware", of that. That is interesting. Alas, I lost interest in superhero flicks a few years ago. I won't go into a whole thing here, but I do know there have been some good ones.

Well, to be fair, they span quite a wide variety these days; comic 'themes' have become fairly mainstream, or, at least, a safe bet Hollywood is comfortable with right now. While I don't want to get into a long thesis on the benefits v. shite out there, suffice it to say that I think there is enough available these days that even non-comic fans, or general audiences who have no knowledge or interested in tighted superheroes, will find something to enjoy. Not a certainty, mind you, but not something I would suggest dismissing out of hand either. And truth be told, the trend is only on the upswing (generally being of increasing quality and approachabililty - some exceptions notwithstanding). And this (the Thor-Waititi connection) is just a sign of that. I am highly optimistic, and trying to really enjoy this trend while it lasts. Let's all try and forget those dark years....

I am hopeful that they won't string him along for a couple of years, eventually giving him the Edgar Wright treatment.

Well, I think that's a bit of an understatement. Superhero films have been enormous blockbuster entertainment for some years now. It's kind of hard to believe that all, or ever most, of those audiences have ever set flesh-mitts on an actual comic book. And, that's kind of a turn off for me. Not a huge turn off, mind, but there's so many excellent films I want to see, it doesn't take much to garner something low priority in my queue.

I did just of think of one comic book film I'm looking forward to, Clowes' graphic novel Wilson is being brought to the screen. Haven't read that one, but Ghost World (the movie) was quite good. Not sure Clowes' work counts though, since I doubt Thanos is in it.

Well at this point they would have to fire him mid-shoot because they started filming this month, and had a panel at SDCC. Thor recently left Waititi a little gift... https://twitter.com/TaikaWaititi/status/751141169862631425/photo/1?ref_src=twsrc^tfw

@blakewest Well then the Gareth Edwards or Josh Trank treatment. I'll not have you ruining my concerns! Good day, sir!

It is sort of a recurring gag, but that doesn't mean it ceases to be any less funny.

Oh, that Thor. He is such a kidder.

I thought this was very cute, so I decided to purchase this print by Christopher Lee today. Signed number print of edition of 60.

Same artist. I would have love to grab this one also but it was sold out. I use to eat majority of these brands of cereal when I was a kid. Now as an adult I don't eat much if any cereal at all. Maybe one or two boxes a year.

Nicely executed stuff, Anthony. I usually lose interest once the Heisei and Milennium monstas are blended in with the Toho soup, but Mr.Lee managed to infuse everybody in the menagerie with mountains of charm.

Looks like Gorosaurus was having a bad day. Maybe he just needs a little nap.

    EDIT: Gotta catch 'em all!

I had no idea Christopher Lee was alive and had a graphic arts career! I guess you learn things from a playing an undead character in a dozen films.

It is a cool print. What's that black owl-like kaiju with the red eyes?

^ Wonderful I love the kaiju one! @Odibex Hedorah

Also What We Do In The Shadows is a great film, hard to believe it took crowd funding to get it into cinemas in the US. Waititi's next film - Hunt for the Wilderpeople is also a fun watch.

Did not know that. I know that Funny of Die distributed it or something. I cringe every time I see their credit in the movie or the trailer.

Man, I could still survive on cereal if needed, it is a regular part of my routine.

I just love that Toho monster one too! Really digging the stylised look, and as David said, I really like the harmoniously blending of the later Heisei guys with my usually preferred Shows creatures. I would definitely hang that with pride and enjoy many hours of staring at it I am sure. My favourite part is Mechagoji high-fiving Titano. Thanks for sharing, Anthony!
