Thanks for posting pics of the C. Lee prints, Anthony! I had to buy the Toho one; and I was excited to hear my son say that he'd like me to put it up in his room. Looks like the timing was good was good for my purchase too because right after I bought it, the print was then listed as sold out. That will be cool to get number 60/60.

Good to hear you was able to pick one up. It's a very nice art print at a reasonable price.

Dang, that'll show me for trying to hold out until I had some coffers available. Congrats on snagging the last one Paul, it is really a wonderful print, and an incredible price (for my mind) for what you get.

    WOW!

These are soooo cool, I never heard of the artist before today- thanks for posting that.
Really too bad all the modern cereal companies do not have this guy do their box art!

As a kid I related to the box art and thought most of the cereal tasted gross.

Quisp and Super Sugar Crisp being the 2 I thought tasted good plus they
had small toys and neat stuff in the boxes. OK now I feel old once again.

Fantastic buy, Michael! That is such a great poster. I truly love this style of horror art, and have bought a good number of manga in Japan just for that reason alone (as I can't read Japanese....yet). Some real classic elements captured on that example, so it was a really really great choice I would say, and I really love the skeleton especially. I am always bit hesitant to go too far into the poster auctions, because they are so fantastic, but really deserving of an ample price too, but you can never really tell with repros and stuff, and it is hard to gauge quality from a lot of the photos. Anyways, I look forward to seeing some more pics once it arrives; I have no doubt this one will look just stunning all framed up.

Hahahaha! I actually have an old print that Chris did years ago. It's a little different from what you see him making now. I'd snap a pic but it's in a high place in my apartment that I haven't been able to dust (thank goodness it is in a plastic sleeve). I tried doing a google search but came up short. I think I have one of his Crazy 4 Cult posters which is pretty cool.

I have this small print that Best Buy had stacks of. I should have grabbed a few.

I still want to get a few prints from Dave Perillo, along with some illustrators that are on here like Robert de Castro and Jeff Lamm.

I'm immensely relived that at least one person found my little joke funny.

I like this guy's work and the work of similar artists/illustrators, but I can't really fully appreciate it without a little "this stuff seems a little trendy/derivative" reservation in the back of my mind. I don't actually feel that way about some of the other trending art sub-genres, like the big-eyed girl stuff you see in High Fructose. Not sure why that is, though. I started seeing, and enjoying, this style back when Juxtapoz started featuring Shag. I'm not sure if he's the guy who set off this whole retro thing, but maybe I've been seeing it longer than most? Not sure. Chris Lee's obviously a competent illustrator (as can be readily seen in that C4C poster), so I'm not trying to take that away from the guy, I just feel Like I need to add a proviso. Just my opinion.

Damn, this is pretty sweet, for those hardcore poster collectors. The Bottleneck Gallery in NY is issuing a full-on screenprint - that is 17 glorious layers on heavy stock paper - of the iconic Big Trouble in Little China poster. The master of movie posters, Drew Struzan, has signed each one. Time to throw out those old cornered and worn one-sheets guys and gals!

This came in the mail today. I received number 40 out of 60. Also a 3 eye ball monster dropping his ice cream sticker was included.

Looking at the close-ups it looks like the print would make for some pretty sweet curtains.

Years ago I found a set of retro-print dinosaur curtains at a thrift store. Best goddamn curtains I'll ever own.

Got my Lee Toho kaiju print yesterday too and we love it.

@Odibex I'd love to see a pic of those curtains if you have one.

So would I actually :| I lost them (and a bunch of other awesome stuff) in an eviction precipitated by an ill-advised stand off with my landlords at the time, caused by some delusional thinking I was experiencing. Sorry, man.

And you can count me in for an entire matching sheet/bedspread set!

(does anyone else know the 'difficulty' in trying to constantly shape your vintage <ahem> "child" Star Wars sheets to your current bed situation? ... or is that just me?)

Picked up this Barry McGee poster last week. The back of the poster has one of his geometric patterns, but I doubt I will get tired of that orange.

Very cool one, Blake. I love the whole idea of these disembodies heads piled up.

The Thing to this day ranks right up there for me (with Alien) alongside of my all-time favourite movies, that, despite the time in which they were made, will never look dated or unimpressive. Everything just comes together so perfectly. I can watch these movies eternally. I really love this one from an upcoming show (opening today) at Public Works SF, dedicated to the work of Kurt Russell:

    Second choice,
