Re: who is this??? Much like the Funfetti-esque Monoclon, I find myself surprisingly into that multicolored monstrosity. I'm not really trying to single you out, but i wanted to comment as I've seen this criticism a lot. It really is hard to make a blobby or coil-like sculpt not look like a turd to people. We're immaturely hardwired for it in some ways, just like trying to make obelisks not look phallic.

Now this version is definitively more interesting than the crappy one from GEEK! / Medicom. Looks like a good old D&D monster to me.
This toy does absolutely nothing for me and it's interesting how some are trying to completely hype it (aka certain yja sellers)
That is fantastic. And - to me anyways - so very much better. It has the loveable crude but incredibly fun nature of a bootleg; the sculpt really works. And just look at that face! I adore it. This could very much be the brainchild of Harryhausen brought into a toy. The subtle texturing and the combination of wrapping the tail all around the body into one blended piece. It just has so much nicer balance and thought, to me, which results in a much better aesthetic to my own tastes. The proportions are much better, and it feels thought out; the overall impression is more believable. Man, I would love him. The poly nature of it gives it that completely extra plus in this column, and the colour is a real bonus. AND..... if all that wasn't enough, I would buy an empty bag of air with that header on it. Just superb artwork. This guy has everything I'd want in a toy, vintage or otherwise. Weird how it does so much more for me than what came after. I don't want to badmouth the others, but this seems like a good example of more is not necessarily better, and how so many toys now are all about 'uglying' it up. And that's okay, not my bag, but as long as they don't lose track of the actual purpose of the toy in the process - which, unfortunately, I do think happens. I feel that they lost the kaiju aspect of it. I think a lot of it comes from making toys for a different audience (e.g. collectors vs. children), and using their own influence in that respect. Which is fine, art and design changes, I am just saying I prefer the older school of thought. And I wish we'd see more in the 'toy' aspect of things among current makers. So is that yours that you adopted? Very much congratulations if so.
