Okay, I can't be the only one who is stupidly excited for Halloween this year, right?

    LET'S TALK HALLOWEEN.

    Plans for the day?
    Costume?
Movies you're going to binge watch?
    Best new decoration you got?
Candy that you're going to buy in bulk once Halloween passes?

Everything in Phoenix has been getting setup and decorated a full month early this year. It's been super fun already to walk around Halloween aisles and stores. So far, the only thing I plan on doing is more haunted houses and a gnarly pumpkin patch. Still figuring out a costume idea and plans for the evening, though. One of the things I miss that I watched in my younger days was AMC's 100 Scariest Movie Moments. But they don't show that anymore. :(

I went to Walgreens a couple weeks ago and they have skeletal dogs and cats for sale as lawn props. Last year I saw an undead flamingo at a Halloween specialty shop. I WANT THEM ALL SO BADLY.
I know that if I buy them, someone will steal/break them though... We have really shitty kids in the area.
I once was manning the door on Halloween night and these shitty teenagers showed up at around 9:30pm (which in my town is the usual cut-off time for trick or treating) and I was out of candy, so I didn't open the door. They saw me on my laptop through the window and started banging on the window, so I yelled loud enough for them to hear, "Sorry, we're out of candy!" Well, they go fucking berserk. They start screaming "FUCK YOU!" and throwing stuff at our house. I was a moment away from calling the cops when they finally left. They came back in the middle of the night just to egg us. Brats...

As for my costume, my GEEK! Minotaur came in the mail today. IT IS HUGE, LIKE A SMALL TODDLER. I'm going to see if I can get a bib and one of those baby carriers that allows you to carry an infant on your chest, stick it in there, and dress up as goat demon. I'll be Satan's baby mama.

I try to treat all of October like Halloween. I don't have time for a movie every day or even every other day but pretty much every movie I watch that month will be horror. Hoping to get through all the original Nightmare on Elm Street films first then the Halloween films and if I'm lucky all the old Friday the 13th stuff too. Yes it's pretty cliche and I've seen them all before but I don't care because it's October! I also plan to stock up on those horribly delicious Cadbury Scream Eggs since I don't really have anything with sugar for most of the year and like to overdose for Halloween.

Oh and if I can get Halloween day off I will probably do this odd haunted pub crawl thing. They take you on a tour of the most haunted pubs in the area and tell you why and how they are haunted and give you a ghostly drink at each place. Then the last place you get to stay all night if you want and ghost hunt. It sounds kind of lame but you can sign up with a bunch of friends instead of strangers so that could be cool.

Ill probably drop on by Walmarts and get an assorted 12 pack of whole candy bars for the kids that stop by. Like normal sized bags of Skittles and Starburst. They love that stuff plus its not some rinky dinky small piece of candy its a full sized assortment set. I like actually giving kids decent sized treats. Not the small stuff that most ppl get.

haha Halloween is year round at our house, but unfortunately neither my old neighborhood nor my new one get more than 1-3 trick-or-treaters per holiday, which is heartbreaking! BUT, my sister's house 10 minutes away gets SCORES of them since it's a family area next to 3 schools! Last year I went full on "It" and did a bloody carnival theme and dotted the front yard and house with bloody red, yellow and blue balloons, all over the place. Fog machines, full bunny mascot costumes, creepy carnival music, all other sorts of carnival/clown goodies, plus my own stuff I hauled over that is in my house year-round (antique wooden wheelchairs and such). I have a classic old school clown costume in yellow/red/blue my mom kindly replicated from a creepy childhood costume I wore when I was 4. Thrown on a red yard wig, my giant shoes, gloves, and face paint, and that's my fave costume every year, I just keep upgrading my shoes and such to nicer ones.

I legit just love anything clown related (husband is TERRIFIED of clowns hah) and I love using that costume every year. I also love scaring the crap out of every age range, though not young kids, I try not to scare young ones, but teens and adults get super freaked out by all the carnival stuff. We had a few really young kids that are really too young to know about clown stigmas get pretty freaked last year so I try to be careful in approaching them since you never know which ones are ok with it and which ones are just too stunned from all the sights/sounds we have set up to be spoken to by someone in a crazy costume.

I get a massive tupperware storage container and just fill it totally full of full-size candy of all kinds, enough for kids to just reach in and rake it out into their pails and it's literally my favorite thing to do every year XD I love when kids will reach in hesitantly and take like one single piece and just look at me and I'm like MORE, RAKE IT INTO YOUR BAGS KIDS and they just get super happy and go ham and it's awesome

Also will be in Tokyo first two weeks of October and that city loves Halloween, so Disney Sea is all Halloween-ed out and a bunch of cafes like Q-pot will have full Halloween-themed teas (pastries and the like) so that'll be a blast as well!

I'm a walking contradiction when it comes to paranormal stuff. I'm a huge skeptic, but I'm still fascinated by it. I guess I really WANT to believe in something more, but just can't find evidence, y'know? So this doesn't sound lame at all, this sounds like a ton of fun. Even if you don't "find" anything, I'd love to just get to hear stories and see historical areas.

@infiniteneeya OH MY GOD. The "It" theme sounds horrifying yet awesome at the same time, haha! I'm really freaked out by clowns... but I like being scared. Not a lot scares me these days, but somehow clowns are still creepy as hell.

I feel the same. I like to believe in "stuff" and I've seen some things I cannot explain but I am not 100% convinced either way. I just think a world where supernatural things really happen is so much more interesting.

Oh hell yes. I'd love to think something else is out there and put some of my focus towards that instead of all the awful shit going on in the world right now. That's probably why I love Halloween so much... we get to let loose, indulge in the crazy and creepy, shove candy into our gobs, and forget about everything for even just a little while.

Haven't done a costume since I was 13. Huge desire to do a goth witch this year which of course is want to be tempting mysterious drag.

Do ittttt. Halloween is meant to be fun and crazy!

And oh my goodness, I searched on Amazon for skeletal cats/dogs/flamingo decorations... They're $15 instead of $30. So tempted...

during halloween i love finding items at the dollar store to customize/accessorize my toys.
today i found these two items, hair extensions for plugs and this bear came with a really great cape.
i might even tear him apart and make the devil suit for someone else.
    altar of sacrifice!

Oh my goodnessssss that's an amazing idea!!! I absolutely HAVE to do this, I love Dollar Stores anyway... Once in a while you find something awesome. Last time I went to one I found these incredible owl garden decorations that weren't supposed to be creepy, but they totally were. My boyfriend was creeped out hardcore. My mom was delighted. She stole it and put it in her potted deck plant.

2 years ago I had a moustache so I dressed up as Stan's Dad as Lorde, I got so drunk and lost my wig in a Devo cover band mosh pit. I don't know if I can ever Halloween again after reaching those heights.

But I do live in a house now and I'm getting the itch to haunt it out like I used to at my parents place to scare some kids, we don't get a lot of trick or treaters around my place though so not sure if it will be worth it.

Me and SuperHeroBossLady have been hitting up the Homegoods stores as they always have some pretty sweet Halloween decorations, and as everyday is Halloween (rest in peace, Pete), it stays up all year round. it's like Christmas for us lol!

When we first moved into our house six years ago, we had a ton of lumber left over after we demolished the above-ground pool and deck in the yard. (The town pool is way nicer.) I made a few tombstones and the yard became a decent cemetery. We hang skeletons and nooses from the trees (out-of-reach, of course) and have some moody lighting. We need more kids in the area, but it's still a great holiday.
