That castle is going to be EXPENSIVE as hell. Its definitely going to be somewhere around the 400 dollar or more mark im thinking.

I'm hoping one day they go ahead and do the Munster's house that people have been pushing for on the Lego site! That's a dream come true right there hah XD The Cinderella house is $349 I believe, same prices a the Ghostbuster's house was! I called our Lego store and they said they'd be sending out early invites to Lego club members in mid-August, so hopefully we can land one. I've been waiting a long time for it to come about! :)

The Disney castle is around $350.00. So its definitely not for everyone but the craftsmanship in this castle with Lego's is amazing. I could also see it going really well with those Disney blind bag figures they have been releasing to.

I just don't get that castle. It just looks like a giant advertisement to me. I get that it's true of most licensed toys but... this one's Disney's logo!

(I'll just go back to looking for a banana man now...)

But i mean its the Disney Castle. Of coarse its like an advertisement. You cant get away with ripping off the Disney Castle even if you named it something else and tried to market it. lmao

Besides Lego did have allot of success with those blind baged Disney figures they got licensed. So i guess Disney was confident enough in Lego to let them go ahead with the next big project which was the castle.

I ordered the castle yesterday, we had a decent chunk of Lego points to use so at least we got a discount, plus it's double points right now so we got another big chunk off for a future purchase! I can't wait until it arrives!! :D

I think it looks like a fun build and an accurate representation. Are there any more iconic Disney structures besides this castle and the Epcot sphere?

I don't want it personally, but would love to see it in person. We have some hardcore Disney fans for relatives, so this will probably show up sooner or later at their house.

@infiniteneeya Please let us know how long it takes to build. 4,080 sounds like a lot of pieces!

@spatula007 it took me about 2-3 months to complete the ghostbusters building just because the red brick walls on it got so repetitive and tiring to assemble that I had to take breaks hah, it was like 4600 pieces if I recall

I'm hoping that the castle is far less repetitive and more fun to assemble! It's a bit easier now that we have moved and I have a big counter to do it on and bar stools which keeps it all elevated and away from our dogs, so I don't have to move it around constantly to keep them from wrecking it XD Going to try to get it done before I leave the country start of October

Has anyone bought an Advent set? Is it worth it? I saw the Star Wars one and was thinking of getting it.

Bought one a few years back. Not really my cup of tea. Though the micro builds are nice and the yearly minifig is great its more geared for your kids. at 40 each i'd rather buy something like that yellow submarine coming out in a few weeks. swoon..

I've bought the Lego and Friends ones for years now, but will not this year. The kids love them, mind you, but in Canada the SW is $58, which is pushing it (especially with three kids...). I'll skip a year, get them when they go on sale, and have them open them next year! The free set on L@H this month is an advent calendar of sort, so I hope the kids will be satisfied with that!

That being said, if you collect micro SW builds like me, the calendar is a must. It also has at least one exclusive minifig each year.

I do have a few of the SW Microfighters but decided not to collect them all. I remember seeing the SW Advent set a couple years ago (or maybe last year) and it does cost more than the regular Advent set but there are a couple cool things this year.

Not sure if nanoblocks have gotten a mention in here, but they're pretty closely related to legos and also pretty fun too. Just picked this one up. Should keep me occupied for a good while.

Idk, with only 590 pieces might be an hour or two for me and id be done with it in no time. I feel like the T-Rex should be over 1000 pieces because 590 sounds a tad to small lol.

Maybe I'm just less experienced lol. Its both challenging and fun to work with such small blocks. The smaller building sets take me about an hour to do already. I'll put the rex together tomorrow and take a pic to show its size.

That would be really awesome because despite things like what i normally collect like non-Vinyl toy figures where you can pretty much see what the action figure looks like without having to open it up. Its a whole different story with Lego's and other building block sets where you wont get the gist of the actual size of the product until you open the box up and actually fiddle around with the pieces.

I think nano blocks (or at least the knock offs) are harder because the instructions suck. Took forever to build a small gundam character

I sometimes randomly collect minifig series. Right now I'm trying to complete my Disney minifigs so if you have any of the ones I"m missing and want to trade/sell let's talk! :)

And I guess while I'm on the subject, it can't hurt to say that I"m missing a few monsters from last year's Halloween series. :)

I agree that nanoblocks instructions can be a challenge to understand, but... it adds to the fun? Makes them more puzzle-like? Maybe?
I got a few sets back when we were in Japan last summer.

...and a bunch of Kamen Rider / Space / That-cool-big-ass-robot too sets that can be found in this pic. Haven't built much yet, but they're totally fun - if a lot more fragile than lego!
