My guess is that it'll be a drop of around 19 pieces that goes for 400+$ without shipping as a lottery and that all of them end up with the same people as always in China and Thailand.

I didn't realize monsters had to have fashion sense in order to be monsters lol.
Its ok if your buying one. Post it on SB so we can see a close up of it when it pops up in ppls hands!

Well I guess they won't need "Japan made only" collectors who think burger warriors are far more classy...

I appreciate all that went into the 3 head ape.

And I LOVE the way it's articulated to be able to go onto its hands like a real ape.

I kinda like this one for the sculpt. The paint is too much, but the chunky/beefy vibe is cool.

That being said, $500 is steep (for me), so I won't be owning it.

    How tall is this dude?

FINAL Meats by Restore is also $500 and that's ridiculously huge, like cookie jar huge.

The posability is cool, I guess...
...But WHY does the world need another multi-headed, rotting/diseased toy, particularly an ape?
It's like every trend rolled into one.

I pine for something original or weird. :(

So basically the Shirahama Nekomata as a gorilla monster? Even the head poses are the same.

Some wise person once said that a creator should consider the question "does this need to be made in vinyl?" or "what benefit does making this in vinyl have?"

I also think that one needs to avoid the pitfalls of novelty for its own sake as well. That being said, again, the sculpting skill is commendable.

You know what I was thinking this exact same thing yesterday - but I felt bad for picking on Red Hot Style. But, I gotta say, it's true... no matter how much @topher is gonna kick and scream and splash monster kolor all over it

Definitely not kicking or screaming... And I haven't used MK in years.

Ya know there's nothing wrong with Monster Kolor, the hate for it around here is totally unjust.
I only stopped using it because of the cost.

Im hoping that blanks of the 3 headed ape will be quite a bit cheaper to buy. I honestly think the blanks look like they will be more appealing for display.

I'm definitely with you on that one, the red really brings out the diseased look to the point where I think they're just using it as a selling point. The wax version is a lot easier on the eyes, and I'm sure unpainted would be as well.

And @badteethcomics , I feel bad picking on Red Hot Style too because I think their other stuff is pretty cute and funny. Blobfish dude? Hairless wrinkly cat in Godzilla costume pants? No one else has done that, and there's a certain adorable charm to it.
But we have all seen a rotting/diseased toy, an ape, or two/three heads.

I noticed this too. I would imagine that the antipathy stems from newer painters' overuse of the metallic, pearl, and other sfx paints. That can easily create the so-called snowmobile look.

Monster Kolor is a terrible paint, it doesn't adhere to vinyl and relies on a 2 part epoxy labeled a clear coat to keep the paint from rubbing off. You could paint a toy with any paint in the world if you are going to cover it with a 2 part epoxy and it work just as well as Monster Kolor.
I remember seeing a version of that 3 head gorilla sculpt without all the boils...Maybe that choice was a last minute addition to try and distinguish it from the HxS King Ju.

MK was formulated to adhere to vinyl, I guess if it does or nor is debatable.
The 2part clear is specifically for going over the clear colors, over the silver base aka "candy paint"
They have other top coats as well.
Mk and v color w no top coat both will scratch off.
Mk has flat whites, black they are mixable etc, in my experience they work just like vcolor when mixed right.

Also you can't really just use any paint if you're going over with this type of clear, crappy acrylics can wrinkle and crack under it.

Yeah i found with MK, even after clearcoat you still ran the risk of it cracking or flaking away around joints, and bought other toys painted with MK that had the same issue. Admittedly it was a bit of a generalization, and I'm sure it's better than alot of paints, though I would still choose Tamiya or Mr Color over it and use the MK clear coat system with those.
