Also, the idea of switching parts to make it feel like it's a different toy, like his new birdman (by switching bodies) is cool, but it kind of feels lazy, especially with the bird body..

The Mad Mimi is a cool idea but it could've been executed better

Don't get it. Wouldn't pay for it. Cool..for those that like it. No offense but would rather spend my money in other places.

I think these toys would look way better if he would brush paint in the details (pupils, teeth, etc)
To me they always look unfinished, and often heavy handed.
I haven't seen one in person though.

Apparently ze precious artist cannot be bothered to do that for a measly $200.

    Is this still being discussed!

Shady, overpriced and SSDD sculpts . . . Dude's 'Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen' marketing seems to be working!

I will say this toy is for sure overpriced. A two pull figure for over a $100 is insane.

Well we can still appreciate the sculpt and the paint applications so far.

It doesn't mean we have to buy any of his toys anytime soon..

Agreed! It's the only painted version I've liked.

I also really like the Medicom Kaiju Version - they remind me of Doraemon

^ Looks like a Garamon tribute. That's pretty cool.

even the eye sprays on the garamon mimi cant distract from the sculpted pupil. for me at least. i wish all toys had smooth eyes so they could be painted a million different ways

I actually kind of like the fact that the sprayed pupil and the sculpted pupil are at different spots - makes it feel a more trippy

It would be nice if they sprayed eyes on each of the round bumps... it needs more eyes

As others have stated the paint app on his mimi's are incredibly lack luster with the execution coming off as lazy. (except pk's) detailed portions of the sculpt go almost unnoticed. ( didnt notice the pupil until today) it seems too small to airbrush or they just haven't created the right paint masks, refuse to hand paint ect. Obviously from most accounts tan is not a very likable or trust worthy person and this leaves me (and possibly others on this board) at a cross road. I want to dislike his toys but he seems to be stealing the right talent and putting out sculpts that are genuinely pretty cool.

Wtf is going on with the Nazi homage shit lately with his work? Even his newest sculpt is doing it to.

Does not resonate with any sort of aesthetic for me at all. Not the Mimi, or the other screaming face one, or this hideous thing. And the price? You can't just create your own hype and charge $500 dollars. Someone will buy it. Some people like to eat shit too. To each their own.

The Telebobo with the armband is supposed to be an homage to Red Skull from Marvel.

Im getting sick of the requests the new toy makers have for getting these toys. Draw the figure and then post with all these hashtags. Fuck just let people enter a lottery. I dont know, whatever.

Red Skull was still a Nazi though. Just his own faction so to speak.

Thats getting on my nerves as well to.

I dunno....Kind of seems the time-worn trick of making controversial toys to generate talk/hype to boost sales.

I am at the point where I like toys to stand or fall on their own merits/design..Would we even be talking about this without the Hitler pose and Nazi insignia?

None of these sculpts are bad per se, but
the Nazi thing just feels like a cheap trick for attention. I used to fall for controversial toys early on in collecting but not so much anymore.

    Just my humble worthless opinion.

Totally, just thought I'd point it out. I imagine that they dont see it the way we do. But punching Nazis is always the right thing to do.

I took it to be more of an "Obey the TV" sort of concept. Then again, maybe I'm being more creative about this than I ought to be. I do like the layered paint treatment though.
