I've seen a picture here or there on instagram, and I absolutely love this release but would never be able/willing to plunk down for it. Pure insanity.
Most of the Large LK dolls retail around $350+ but they are really HUGE Aftermarket seems all over the place but very few surface if any
Love this guy and his paint app, very tropical indeed! Especially love the fishing lure looking submarine. Unfortunately out of my budget too
I was just about to talk about that. My dad was a fisherman and I'm fairly certain he had one with almost same the exact paintjob. And what's going on with the guys naughty bits? Is that like a door or something?
Seahorse vagi-belly to birth paranoid delusions? I guess at that price point few if any flippers pull the string Rather see Yoda get the dough then some skin suit
Whoa! Can you drop the image here? I'll try searching for it, but in the event I come up empty handed I'd love to see that!
@xSuicide Squadx was this Gas Bawer painted by PK? One of my all time favorite sculpts, especially when paired with a kemurjin.
@Michael Beverage Yes, sir! It most certainly is!!! I've yet to see a Kemurjin in hand, unfortunately, but they look great together in photos!
There are a few new Longneck dolls coming out but doubting they will be any easier to get... Still a fan regardless
How does one buy Longneck stuff if it isn't made in collaboration with Medicom? Do you have to go to the store in Japan?
He is fairly tight with his sales and so it is not easy to score anything. Yoda sells thru his shop CKA and via IG sometimes but also sets up at toyshows and festivals on occasion in Ekoda, where the community is really tiny. Also Longneck does have a strong fanbase in Japan versus how few dolls he pops out so anyone who collects is very fortunate to get anything at all. In the past few years there have been a lot of releases that nobody here even acknowledged and there have been a few exclusives with others. I wish he popped out more Menargo and variations of the Gasbawer. He is very friendly and a true master of capturing the essence of homage. I consider the Longneck line Sofvi perfection, without a doubt. Always inspired by what he does.
I'm lucky enough to have come into the blank white Menargo and the recently photographed Gas Bawer, even more so to have visited CKA during my stay in Japan during 2015, and I couldn't agree more with @kichigai. Super, super nice dude, and definitely has a very signature and distinct style.
Interesting. Are the Menargos $300+ when they first go on sale, or do they start lower and it's the secondary market that makes the price jump?
Secondary market, but a lot of Yoda's stuff can be pretty high out the gate because of tiny run numbers, and that is just the way he has decided to sell his stuff. I second kichigai et al., I am crazy about Yoda's work.
My blank white Death Menargo came to me still bagged and headered, which also still had the original price tag attached. I was pretty shocked to see the retail price was only ¥7,000, considering the aftermarket price on them now.
I agree, I really love the latest longneck work, and think some the recent paint apps are the best paint being done. I got in on both medicom pre-orders years ago, but at the time I wasn't sold on the sculpt, a little too crude, I also think maybe the market was so over saturated with ooze it inspired stuff, I lumped it in with the other ooze stuff and didn't give it the credit it deserved. Ended up only keeping the moon. I kick myself all the time for getting rid of the other. I've really come around to the newer figures and who could have predicted how hard they would become to grab. Maybe Yoda will toss us whiny westerners a bone and do another medicom open run at some point.
