Thanks for posting those pics! Damn is that Godzilla soooo great. Did you grab anything at their booth? Any painted Gacha? What is the scoop on that prototype Gomesu pictured? Giant size? Sorry for multiple questions!
Edit: I misread: the Gomes is a 450 coming out. I picked up the SuFes exclusive unpainted GID Elegab 450 and only one of the gachapons (it's a giant gorilla). I was trying to spread my money around a bit, but man these other 450s were really tempting. SuperFestival April 2017 by Doug Hardy, on Flickr
Also this red 450 Godzilla is sweeeeet Edit: It's GID with clear red and black paint SuperFestival April 2017 by Doug Hardy, on Flickr
The aforementioned 450 GID unpainted Eleking with the Bullmark old-style Ultraman Orb I picked up SuperFestival April 2017 by Doug Hardy, on Flickr
Must have been a treat to see those in person but very thankful you could share the experience! Red 450 wins hands down. Going by his foots looks like maybe a milky or clear base color of vinyl.
Also just for a fun comparison: here is the current Bandai Ultraman Orb and the Bullmark Orb together. It's neat comparing the differences. Bandai ones are made in China and only have arm and waist articulation. The Chinese vinyl is a bit softer as well. The Bullmark one has that great look and feel of the classics. @TattooDougHardy - Thank you for all the great photos. I am jealous of your trip, and also that you were able to attend SuperFestival. It's hard to pick a favorite from all of those toys, but the rare color B/O Godzilla is definitely one of them.
The 55th Anniversary of the movie "King Kong vs. Godzilla" Marusan Classic Godzilla 450 Shōwa 1.5 edition Dark blue, metallic blue, and light silver sprays on blue/green vinyl.
Nice score! I need one so bad, but first I gotta save for when the pink/green Kanegon and the red faced ultraman 450's trickle down to auction.
@doomboy - It's cool to see the painted gacha versions in that video. I am hoping to score a few of those if I ever get a chance. Here are some of the new items from the last SuperFestival that are now up for preorder in May: Baltan 450 Metarica series Mogera 350 Metarica series Garamon 450 Sakura edition There are also new unpainted "pure vinyl" 450 versions of Booska and Giant Gorilla/KK (and Gojira not shown): Described as "a pure-molded object whose color changes over time"? @TattooDougHardy - How did these look in person? I am intrigued.
I've always loved that Mogera sculpt...but I've never been able to find it with a more traditional color scheme...
@Sanjeev - How about this one from 2007? I'm not convinced it's glow vinyl just yet, unless Google Translate butchered the translation. I usually see "luminous/phosphorescent" for GID vinyl, but the description of the Gojira, Gorilla, and Booska all seem to be something else...
I don't remember seeing those at SuFes, but they look like they would be amazing using translucent paints on.
Ooh...that Mogera looks great, Mark. Gonna have to keep an eye out for it! By the way, isn't that Goro above...not Giant Gorilla?
Looking at Dougs pics that painted Godzilla b/o style polar color is very nice. I'm a sucker for dinos though with this Gorrow mettallica series piece:
The metallic ones look way better than I had originally thought, Baltan looks incredible! Painted 450 Sakura Garamon is mesmerizing, I can not quit looking at it....... Who would even need human companions if you had that doll? I would take it for walks!
It just dawned upon me that the "pure vinyl" will definitely change color over time because I have an Elegab "Milk White" King Smog and this made me realize that the color was. I received it from a third party and it is definitely has a patina of yellowing to it. Unless you keep it in a really dark area I doubt you will be able to avoid this.
