Definitely envious of these great Tiger 7's. I've always wanted one but can't get the right search term for yja. Wow just saw all the stats, very nice records guys. This will help when bidding and I can't help wonder who bought those original bagged for 130k. That has got to be some kinda serious collector right there.

I remember a loooooong time ago when the S7 store in Japantown, had 2 orange AND 2 yellow head Tigers for sale at the same time!:shock::shock::shock: I adopted my first Yellow head from S7 . Happy times!

Not vintage, but I just have to say, and especially for an awesome character that you don't see much New of anymore, the Galaxy People "Drexyl (Tiger 7 ver)" is such a great homage to the old Popy versions, and it turned out really well.

Those were the 'good old days' indeed, Gracie. Hey, at least you came away with one! I hate to think of all the stuff left behind in earlier times <cough> Buta Baltan <cough>

At this point I'd trade a bunch of Butanohana for a Standard sized Tiger 7 but its rare you find someone who collects new and old and willing to part with one. Shit I'd be open to trading a few things in my collection (but only for a standard Tiger 7).

Well, I got the new and old, but the not the part about parting with one ;)
Chris, I have every confidence that you'll bag a stripey kittee for your shelves at some point!:D

Ouch! That first one has a bit of dirt and rubs, nothing overly serious at all, and sure the second is nicer looking (okay sure, aside from the head lean he is pretty much mint!), but man, that is a hefty premium to add for the two plastic mittens. (And ooh, my poor lacking kittens! :()

If you see the Tiger Seven of the first auction, I'm almost sure that the right foot is crushed on the tip of the boot.

Saw that second one and knew right away from the condition: the price was going to be out of this orbit....

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! @Alebrije , for ALL of the Tiger updates :shock::shock:! They are beautiful! Nice catch on the crushed foot , I wasn't sure about that one, but thought that something was "off". And thank you @chimmychazz for posting your squeaky clean tiger!!!:D He cleaned up very nicely! Nice to see what he looks like, post auction. I must admit I was skeptical, about how well he'd polish up, but you did a fabulous job! Don't worry Chris, a Tiger will come to you one day!:)

Today ended this auction for a Tiger Seven in mint condition, the starting price was: 198,000 yen and in the end only receives one bet.

That's..... actually.... not all that bad, really. I mean, this takes a certain type of buyer, to be sure. Dropping 2k on any toy (well, outside of any of the hyped art toy circles I should say) is no small thing, but considering the condition - and this one is pretty astounding in it header and plastic, for even a sealed example (which is of course rare) - and looking at prices for these Sebben kittehs over the years, I can actually see it. Outside of some small staining to the back of the backing, this could be right off the shelf. I mean, I could never do it myself, which is a good thing, because I would just have to celebrate Christmas morning by unwrapping this fellow, but he is a beauty. Grace, you could have easily traded in a couple loose ones for one moisty fresh looker! Anyway, a great example. Thanks for sharing Roger. These pics are going to have to be stored in the SB archives for long years for future ogling reference.

While I agree that's a lovely Tiger 7, if I owned that (and could afford to pay that price) I'd never take it out of the bag because it would depreciate quicker than driving a new car off the lot. And to me that would be sad, because half the fun is handling these toys. I'd much rather have a loved up used one in ok shape (and through the magic of excel graphing we found gloves and bags add a huge premimum to these- which I don't care to pay). At this point I'm going to have sell a shitload of things just to afford one of these used ones anyhow lol! I hear old t-shirts going for decent coin are a thing on ebay now hmmmmmm got loads of them.

I'm with Chris in this I would not have the heart to get it out of its original packaging, although the temptation would be too much. It seems to me that if you already made a huge expense to find it in this state, it would be best to leave it like this and try to take another loose and display them together, so when you're anxious to play with it, you can take the loose and star the fight.

Okay guys, let's just clarify - because there seems to be some confusion - that I wouldn't actually open this fella up (if I had him), any more than I would ever be able to spend 2k$ on a toy. These are all dream circumstances, but the point being that I just love to play with my toys too much, that I would never even seek out a packaged version. I am not such a complete bonehead that it wouldn't occur to me about the rarity and [non-monetary] value in a sealed piece from the vintage era. They really do belong in toy museums, or people's collections which are as close, or ever surpass, this level. Even for cheap bootlegs, available all over the place, I of course recognise this. Anyhow, back to enjoying Tiger7, and dreaming of the day I might have some action adventures with one in person.

It would be great to have one bagged and one loose in an ideal world when it comes to tigers, but my preference is always loose with vintage. When there is great art on the insert or backer the case for owning it bagged becomes more compelling, as in the case with our above furry friend, or if you are a crazy completionist with a particular line, but bagged toys just display poorly to me. I have one bagged vintage grail that I won't open for the reasons Lixx outlined above, since the value drops by half or more instantly.

Thank you again Roger! :D Some really nice stripey specimens there! Even though these bagged vintage tigers are pristine, I wonder if the toys were stored under different climate conditions, would it result in damage the toy? If you lived in a very warm and humid place, would keeping these goodies make them more prone to mold or stickiness?

So far so good. I haven't gone past my own Tiger limit (yep, I do have a shiny "new" gloved one too ) -- mainly because they've gotten even more pricier these days!
