@doomboy That's a really cool version, I prefer this bootleg than the officials releases.

Got my Tarman GID "Obake" version by kotobukiman and the color is just magical. it looks like it is glowing all day:lol:
I love the bikuriman sticker that came with him too. I can't believe bikuriman stickers are actually this small... they were much bigger when I was a kid.

    Some recent goodies…
A combination of lottery winning luck, auction luck (no one else buying first / the seller not knowing what they were selling?!) and a top boardie helping me out with a mini want ;)

I have no interest whatsoever in any of the HxS gorilla toys... but I have all the interest in those lil' Stretch Monster figs they come with. Strongly wish they were obtainable on their own.
    Sigh.

The Asphaerius test shot. Should be here tomorrow at the earliest. I had to post. I'm too excited. Must touch. Been fleshing out the Wormhole Warriors' universe since Benny let me know that it had shipped.

The Asphaerius sure looks very nice, Andy. Great work on him/them. I quite like that pearlescent silver vinyl. I guess I was a bit before your time, but - along with the classic pulp sci-fi inflences - my mind immediately went to Ovion

vintage Mattel figure, conceptual artwork by the master Ralph McQuarrie, and on-screen appearance

    PS - classic BSG forever!

^^^ So good, @ultrakaiju ! Thank you for sharing those! The Wormhole Warriors have been "a thing" since my girlfriend and I started dating almost 4 years ago now. We love capsule toys and originally designed the Wormhole Warriors as such. However that idea died pretty rapidly and I began fleshing out more details and building upon this character, Asphaerius. A portal-hopping humanoid that dons an insectoid suit alongside his team.

Oh, yeah, you totally get that impression from him that you've thought up a whole backstory; it really helps with the believability and the execution, of staying true to your inspiration. I guess I just love the classic 'insectoid' alien/invader aspect too, that used to be so replete in sci-fi and fantasy, which is really channeled by this fella. He also brings me to mind of another classic toy of my memory, the Dado from Tomland's Starroid line:

I have to say, I am pretty excited for the Wormhole Warriors if this is the first glimpse we get. I like the idea of a whole series of these as capsule toys, as well as larger vinyl. How tall is he by the way? The possibilities in this line are seemingly endless, and if this is what your imagination has come up with so far, it is a good sign for what is to come. :)

    TL;DR - more thought-out space monsters, less gross-out toys, scars/skulls/zombies/etc. and band-wagon non-creativity

@ultrakaiju Thank you so much for the kind words, man! That means a lot coming from an SB Ancient such as yourself. This specific figure stands at approximately 10" tall.

Since you've shown interest, here's an illustration a friend of mine, Ryan Wheaton, did of Asphaerius. Love the organic-ness that he gave him. I plan on using it for headers and/or backer cards. Cheers and Happy Friday!
