Also I guess my hopes for Peggy getting her just desserts did sort of come true. She realized too late that not everything needs fixing and she really did love Ed. In the end she seemed like sort of a sad crazed person talking to herself in the backseat.

Also I'd like a stand alone series of Hanzee just killing everything in sight please

Not to mention that Ed used his last words on Earth to dump her. :?

^ I was just reading something similar from Zack Handlen at A.V. Club:
    • As for the actual Hanzee, he escapes, and meets a stranger from… Okay, I’m not actually sure. Did Kansas City pay Hanzee to destroy the Gerhardts from within? Or is it some other organization that used him? Kansas City makes more sense, even if Hanzee does explicitly threaten them. But either way, the important point is that he gets a new name—Moses Tripoli—and the promise of a completely new face. He theorizes he might start his own crime family, and, well, here’s where we do some speculation again. Hanzee is wearing a sailor’s peacot and a black wool hat, which makes him look more than a little like Lorne Malvo. But the name “Tripoli” has a different connection to season one; it’s the name of the head of the Fargo mob who just happened to have a deaf hitman and his interpreter in his employ. And hey, when Hanzee gets the package with his new identity in it, he’s watching two boys, one of whom is deaf, play catch. A couple of bullies show up, and Hanzee wades in with his knife. “Kill and be killed,” as his motto goes.

Just noticed another little Coen nod. Across from Mike's new office the nameplate had a K. Showalter on it.

I think it would of been a wrong move to try and top the massacre / ufo visitation episode . . . salvaging a happy-ending out of that bloodbath was sweet.
I loved the deflated look on Mike Milligans face as he realised all that effort had secured him a future he did'nt even want . . . .

    Hell yeah

That was such a great season. I cant wait to see what they do with season 3.

    I quite liked the ending.

Thanks for posting the Hanzee-Season 1 connection.

Anyone watching S3? My wife and I were kind of bummed with the season after four episodes, and we actually turned off the fifth episode about 15 minutes in. I'll finish the season eventually, but man, after last season this one so far is a serious disappointment.

@Lttr Prssd - Underwhelming in parts, sure, but Carrie Coon in search of her secret-pulp-writer not-quite step-dad's origin story was one of the best episodes of television ever! So too was this week's installment, The Lord of No Mercy.

Give ep.5 another go, man - the series is giving it the gas, finally!

OH! And oh my God... David Fucking Thewlis!!!!

I have not disliked anything about any season of Fargo and this season is no exception. I get it is slow in parts and the first few episodes are slow burners but the acting is incredible, the screen play is perfect and the tension of the scenes builds at all the right places. I may be in the minority but I can't decide which of the three seasons I like the most. Ewin McGregor is great as the stussy brothers. The woman that plays roys girlfriend is sexy, cool and super calculating and "the wolf" is one of the most twisted evil characters to come since mike Milligan (of course, Fargo) and Gustavo Fring.

I'll admit there were a couple ok (not spectacular) episodes but they were still good in there own way to move the story along but the last three have really brought the show to another level which is consistent with the series as a whole. The episode that Billy Bob narrated was genius how they brought in peter and the wolf and this last episode was possibly the best of the season so far. Fargo for me is the best series on tv besides BCS! If you have given up on it before the last episode that just aired do yourself a favor and watch it through. If this episode doesn't bring you back then you have a good reason to stop watching.

Guess I'm in the minority here. For me McGregor isn't cutting it at all, but I like Winstead and Coon just fine. Something about the writing this season seems forced. I liked the side-trip to LA in search of Sci-Fi step-dad's past, and the nods to Barton Fink in that ep, but the Big Baddy in this season isn't doing it for me. That whole piss in the cup scene seemed so ham-fisted compared to the deft writing of past seasons. And trust me, I got no problem with slow shows. It's part of why I like Better Call Saul (although, I must say, I'm struggling with its 3rd season as well) and am enjoying The Handmaid's Tale, which is anything but fast paced. Last season I couldn't WAIT for the next episode, but this season I'm just going to wait till the end and binge it one day on my own. My wife is totally done with it. Maybe I'll find myself drawn back in at that time. For now I'll stick to Handmaid's and Twin Peaks.

David Thewlis is the best thing in it, his bad guy is so understated. I'm finding his cold intelligence and ruthlessness captivating. Its the way I'm seeing this season so far, they have gone for a lighter more subtle style and for the most part, its working.

Is it as good as the first two seasons so far? I have to say no . . . . but I'm still enjoying the shit out of it.

I will say I've loved the music, and the whole Peter and the Wolf stuff. I'll muscle through and hopefully feel more positive about it in the end.

I also like this season (although not as much as the past two seasons). Thewlis (I've loved him as an actor since I saw Naked- perhaps in my top 5 of all time favorite movies) and Winstead (great actress and stunningly beautiful) steal the show. I usually love McGregor, but I found his portrayls of both brothers sort of the weak link in the show.

I still want to know how this all connects to the opening scene of season 3.

Really liking season 3 so far.
Sure, it really starts slow and if you compare it to the other seasons, it is probably the weakest of the three but it is still great entertainment and very special. The villain is frightening (though some things are a little on the nose) and I really can see how this type of dominance and threat would work in the real world. Or on me.
Also, I will forever have a soft spot for Ramona Flowers.

I just re watched season one and will watch two again.
I am constantly looking for connections to the other two seasons but have not seen anything really.

I stuck with it, and did enjoy it in the end. For me it's the weakest of the three seasons, but still better than most other TV out there. I liked it most when Nikki and Gloria were working their respective angles.
Bummed about Nikki's fate, but wouldn't have really expected anything else from Fargo.

Thing is, though, she delivered the message from the Wandering Jew to the wrong fella - she was supposed to rise to fight the Wicked, not the Doofus. Earned herself a quick ride back to the bowling alley...

Loved Season 3. It was like a play.

Granted season 1 and 2 are amazing but season 3 works
