Indeed. I had a closer look at my Dragon. There are red sprays on him but only on the back 'spine' and they are very faint.

Here is one of the rarer colorways for this BM Yokai set. One of those i thought i'd probably never see, and then i lucked-out and got it quite cheap.

Big respect to Choon for going above and beyond to help me land these.
Gairos with the Nonmalt mini is a big want scratched off the old list . . . .

I nearly 'settled' for the other colorway of Gairos, but i'm glad i was patient and waited for this one!

Oh man, superb score there Joe!! :D

Many congratulations on landing that guy (isn't he just so much more amazing an hefty in person than you imagined?) and massive thanks to Choon for helping you out on him. This is actually the third (of four) releases of Gairos(u)/Guyros [ガイロス], and was an Ichibanboshi exclusive release from 2008 if I recall correctly. It's actually my favourite of them all, and quite possible one of my two favourite Bearmodel toys, which puts it among high competition. The Nonmalt [ノンマルト] mini/omake is just the perfect accompaniment for him too. Very stoked you were able to pick that guy up. (and the midi Pegila is no slouch either)

Yeah, he's perfectly proportioned and quite hefty like you say. I like the way he stands with his belly sticking out a bit.
I never realised there were 4 official colorways for this BM sculpt . . . i agree, i still think the one i just scored is the best.

^ They are all really nice too, owing to a fantastic sculpt, though probably the last does the least for me. The First one is very classic, and I have barely ever seen the second blue version, but the 1ban fella has just the right balance of natural tones and colour for me. I think I would actually like to see them do a new version too, sort of a combination of two and three, that more mimics the on-screen colour scheme, e.g. darker blue-grey vinyl body with all-over yellow painted 'cups', and some green accents for good measure. (though I'd still be over the moon to find one of the first two releases).

Gairos is the shit! Had my eye on that sculpt for a while now. Congrats on landing one.

Also @The Moog I admire your perseverance with all the yokai variants. I chased these long enough to get complete on the sculpts, but have never even seen some of those fantastic variants until you posted them. Good stuff.

Thanks mate, i am a little obsessed with BM in general. I dont have all the variants for the mini Yokai - there is also the set below, which is a combination of the first two releases vinyl colours with slightly different paint. They are a bit too similar to the ones i already have so i will probably skip the set unless i see it cheap someday, of course.
There is also an unpainted clear vinyl set of three, that i assume is extremely rare. It has the cool artwork which we have discussed on this thread before . . .

Clicking through the pdfs of old Super7 Magazines (available on the website) and i found these . . .
I was aware the GID Hedorah was a S7 exclusive but i did'nt know about the bronze '62 Gojira.

I completed the Johnny Sokko set. Took me a few years, but it was totally worth it.
They are a bit larger than the usual BM mini so that adds to the appeal of these ugly fuckers!

Shoot, that is really incredible. I love this series, and it's tough that they are so hard to come by for whatever reason (and then, we inevitably end up butting heads against each other). They really are gorgeous, and deserve to be appreciated all together like this. Just a whole bunch of fun in that gang. A big high five and congratulations on finishing off the lineup of them Moog! That was some very nice dedication and skill in toy hunting.

Yeah, but nowhere near as hard to find as some of the other BM mini sets (for a fair price). I predict if BM prices keep going the way they are, this set would of been out of my price range if i'd waited a few more years!

Indeed, technically i suppose the Giant Robo figure is not part of this 'set'. He comes in a bag on his own and has articulated arms, which kinda puts him apart from the others. All the others have waist articulation only.

Gah! I miss my bear model mini drakulon, never saw another available :(

I have to admit, some days I have a weird fascination with bear Model, and they become my favorite toy maker. It usually fades, but dang, there is some magic there.

Yep, i get ya. I used to buy a fair amount off 'Bonemask' years ago, and he had a whole bunch of rare BM minis that i only bought a few.
If i knew then what i know now i would of cleaned him out. I've never seen many of them for sale since.

Big collecting regret, that one . . .

Nice work Joe. I have a few of these but it's awesome to see them altogether.

Bear Model minis are among the best sculpts...so much character.

Yeah, i dunno where he went. His flickr has been dormant a fairly long time, and im pretty sure he
Hasn't posted on SB for yonks either. I remember him saying he had serious storage/display problems where he lived. His big obsession was BM omakes and minis. Used to buy the standard size figure just for the omake and then sell the full size . . .

Dude had good taste in sofubi.

^yes he did! I bought quite a few toys off him from the 'bay before I joined the board I remember. Always a pleasant guy to deal with too.

Ricky was a crazy beast, that is for sure. It is funny to hear how many of us got our obsession fueled by his sales. I, too, picked up a number of toys from him before the SB days, and he is always a fantastic guy to deal with. Even just talking toys/monsters/other stuff with him, a real pleasure. (Heck I was doing research on some toys of mine and dug up emails we had with each other from days long past! :)). I reached out to him not too long ago, and he still is in the hobby, which is always good to hear, but had to put a good number of his stuff in storage, and wasn't buying as much as he used to. I am always hopeful to see him pop in here again. While it gave a little pang to see sets broken up, I know that many of us were incredibly happy to get the minis, omakes, and full size figures that he put back out to the toy sea. He had - and made - some great toy connections. Anyways, Ricky, if you're reading this, thanks for everything my good man!
