Hope all my fellow FLASKers are prepped and ready for Irma.
The shelves are ransacked down to Perrier and Shrimp Ramen here in O-town (why no love for shrimp flavor?)
Seriously, be safe and be smart!

We escaped up to Pensacola to stay with my wife's aunt and uncle. Praying everyone stays safe!

Indeed, safe wishes to all in the paths of these storms. Maybe we could build some kind of wall barrier around the US border to keep things like that out?

Stay safe and sensible people, nothing material is worth staying behind for. I really hope that it tapers off/turns away from hitting any more populated land as much as can be hoped.

@TiredChildren was wondering about you guys in Melbourne... too much chance for storm surge there. Good thing you took off, I think.
@Russblue11 doesn't matter that we have't yet met in person. If we survive this we should have a FLASK meetup, however large or small, to celebrate. (or I'll just come over and shoplift something pretty off your shelves ;))
I hope Mike, Todd, Banshee, Linda et al are prepped and ready.
@ultrakaiju Hmmm.... this "barrier" you speak of sounds like a solid plan... and we'll make Irma pay for it!

As a Floridian-born individual, I personally take offense at this encroaching storm. Stay safe my friends!

Thanks everyone! Yeah @noeleaser, we moved over to Melbourne from Tampa a little over 2 years ago. And this is the 2nd time I've had to put up storm shutters and flee. That never happened in Tampa, maybe God is trying to tell me something.

Now that I'm back home watching the news it's a little more worrisome. But it's still very hard to evacuate

Power went out here about 2am.
Lots of tree branches down with light structural damage from the heavy rain and sustained wind.
    Thankfully we're ok

Hope everyone made it through ok. Irma passed over Atlanta last night. We are without power like half the county and lots of downed trees, but otherwise ok. I evacuated my disabled pops from FL earlier this week, going to check on him at his hotel now. We fared much better than FL. Hope everyone makes it home safe.

@boon velvet- you fare o.k. down there, bud?

My neighborhood made it through pretty well. Power is back now thankfully. Damage to fences (including ours), roofs, and trees mostly. Driving out today a lot of business signs broken but overall structures ok.

I am glad to hear that for most the worst seems to have passed. I hope that everyone is doing well out there. The inevitable damage and cleanup process will be extensive, I have no doubt, but as long as everyone and their families is safe, that is the most important thing. Still thinking of our fellow Floridian and Georgian SBers; check in when are able.

All good here. We lost power for a few days but now have it back; still no internet/cable (I am at work now). Lost a large tree in front of the house, but fortunately it did not hit anything (nor did the neighbor's fallen tree). Lots of cleanup required in this area, and many traffic lights are out, making for hazardous road conditions. Still, I had to open the office today and forge on.

    Hope everyone else fared well.

Glad to hear people here made it through without injuries, although I have seen some photos of terrible property damage and loss. Looks like a huge mess that will take quite a while to rebuild. The folks out in the islands seem to have taken the worst of it.

This sucks.... our power is estimated to be off until Sunday night. Just too many trees laying on power lines currently in my area, along with exploded transformers. Grocery stores and gas stations are still packed and ransacked. Fuel, ice, water? Good luck! I've still got water, and my sanity.... I think.
And a lovely but small collection of soft vinyl dolls!

I thought about photoshopping my toys out in the yard, but noo, I feel for yall who have real damage.

We're fine here, man. Thanks for the thoughts. I was wondering about you too, @Michael Beverage. Glad you're good. It turned out to be a lot better here than it looked on radar. Mainly just power outages and minor structural damage, tho there were some trees that fell into people's homes (which really sucks but no reports of anyone being hurt). It was the first time Albany, GA has been in a Hurricane Watch.

Scariest part was the string of explosions I heard before the power went out after the 9th one. Pop goes the power cause the transformers go POP
