I don't really think you can. China Is very much a grey area when it comes to copyright infringement and bootlegging.
But one can get at the services and markets that the counterfeiters sell through.

Ya'll hear about how they made an ultraman show, sans asking for copy write, or permission?

It's beyond shitty unpainted bootlegs. 'Zheng' has been actively trying hard to clone Rich's paint apps & style (prior examples given earlier in thread). Personal agenda or otherwise, do you really think he's painting these for his own collection?

Yes, Grody & Elegab seem to be in the clear... at least for now. Anyone want to place bets that HxS isn't next on the hit list?
This guy claiming not for sale (when finished) but its been steadily gaining interest... so I'd take that with a grain of salt. Granted not a full-fledged boot like the MVH & NNN stuff, but certainly a case study in IP infringement.

@deafmetal I think IG cares about this as much as ebay does about shill bidding. You can try and report the accounts but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
What @Sokko suggested seems the best approach to warning the gullible & uninformed. Problem with that being the IG acct owner can easily remove & block unwanted comments/commenters.

Like @JoeMan stated, what really can be done to fight/stop this? No easy answers.
Hopefully this all just ends up being a road bump in neo-kaiju history... but I can't but see it as a precursor of worse things to come. Strange days.

@smurph I believe that is a clear case for the Fugliest Toys thread and really no worse in terms of plagiarism than at least ten other recent sculpts...

And I don't think that "Zheng" guy is painting these just for fun, but if you wanted to make maximum profit with minimum effort you'd just sell the blanks - which, again, makes it seem like there are personal motives/issues at play here. I'd still like to believe that most collectors won't support this kind of shit and that it will peter out eventually; I mean even if you were dense enough to buy ONE because you crave MVH/Nag sooo badly, I can't imagine people actually "collecting" these...

Are you referring to the GID Kraken DX that was on eBay a week or so ago? How does one know if it is a boot or not? I have no DX's and am just curious.

    @bunnyboy Fugliest Toys-worthy indeed.
It's doubtful those who've spent time here would be foolish enough to buy these forgeries, but stranger things have happened...

Really this thread doesn't help its intended audience much: new collectors jumping in with a gusto that haven't done their homework. Sadly, I think many are piecing together what they can about this hobby solely via Instagram... and the language barriers at play make it difficult to get the message across to those most likely to be affected.
Sucks for those who get duped into buying this junk, but I guess some lessons have to be learned the hard way.

That said, this board is still a valuable resource to those who do some digging before taking the plunge... and whaddya know? Someone just posted a valid question as I'm typing. Case in point of why it's important to keep this thread (at least somewhat) active.

No, one was posted on the bootleggers Instagram page with all the other fakes he made.

Doesn't look like there's a booted GiD Kraken head... yet. Won't be surprised to see one soon, since this bootlegger is specifically trying to ape the colors of previous blank releases.

AFAIK the headers haven't been faked. If the listed figure has one, there's a somewhat decent chance it's real.

But who is spending 800 to 1k plus on a blank figure in the first place? (In reguards to the blank kraken on eBay)

    Shame the bootlegger
    Feed the Flipper
    Shun the Flipper
    Feed the bootlegger

I have no real say. Straight up I'm not spending two weeks paychecks on a blank. I'm also not spending one weeks on a bootleg. I'll save some each week and wait for a release of the real thing and be even more stoked to have it in my collection. I think it's been talked about before but the NEED NOW aspect of this hobby is only growing with the popularity of it.

I've said it before but deep pockets doesn't account for deep minds

I can't even begin to express how much my disdain has grown for the comment "NEED" being left on almost every new release of every new toy that comes out. Even if you're not saying it in a literal sense, the implication of how badly people want these things is probably a big enough reason that this sack of shit started bootlegging in the first place. I can at least say, that, even with the amount of rabid MVH fans that I follow(not for that particular reason, they just happen to love it) I have yet to see a bootleg pop up in my feed, and I've blocked this fuckin' clown on every avenue he's got.

While this is a bit of slippery slope, maybe, I don't really see it much different from Target Earth's iterations, or even the current MVH take on the Kougai. It's direct enough that you can tell where it's derived from, but not an exact copy. I'd even go so far to say that he's differentiated this more than Sato - San has done with his sculpts in the past, and I love his toys.

That is true. Not really into TE stuff, but appreciate that it gives collectors a chance to have something Bemon/HxS/Nag-esque (etc.) on their shelves without breaking the bank.
Dude's take on the MG wasn't 100% pertinent to this thread, kinda went off on a tangent there...

Still convinced that HxS figs (likely mecha/itamu) are next in line for the actual bootleg treatment.

I absolutely do think it is pertinent, and worth bringing into the discussion, just not held on the same level of scrutiny. Despite how much I love Sato - San’s Toys, I do see and understand the skepticism many have with his approach. But I do still think he sets himself apart enough, that, it’s just like M1 and Bear Model releasing their own versions of the same Toho Goji figure.

Just curious.... Did you receive your package yet? I haven’t bought anything from the same seller(s), but I’ve been tempted just to see what happens.

That asshat who duplicates Takepico toys in resin is back to his usual antics on eBay. Throw a report for counterfeiting his way, will ya?

I was wondering about that, I’ve never heard of that/ not in the takepico loop to know. But I was like resin? Are those like original? Either thanks for the heads up

I love the original Companion that was made with Medicom. Past that, I've never really understood anything he does, even after watching interviews and hearing him talk. Then there was the situation where he blew up on Jason Freeny for taking a pre - order Companion and doing his signature split anatomical custom work, to which Brian flipped shit and said this dude is just using the Kaws name to get attention. Right. Much like Brian did with Mickey Mouse and every other pop culture icon he simply slaps "bones" on the head and X's over the eyes with.

But back to the original thread subject, I haven't seen much at all said here, or on Instagram. Did this turd finally drown in a pool of his own shit and cease the tomfoolery?

Nope.. if you search either nagnagnag/mutantvinylhardcore hashtag on instagram his "SALE" posts are turning up from multiple accounts that he has created. I managed to find out the price of the nag bootlegs and he is quoting people around $300 usd if I can remember correctly.. I wouldn't even pay $30. In addition to being a complete rip-off, who knows what kind of dodgy toxic vinyl is being used to make these.. whatever factory he's using must not have any ethics when it comes to using safe materials if they are willing to make these.
