So, flippers were at your show but you don't wanna "throw them under the bus"? Is that really what this comes down to..??

Ah no that isn't what it comes down to at all @bunnyboy - you're great at re-directing the narrative I'll give you that. If you want to get all laa-dee-daa about it, flipper or not everybody is human and I would rather not cause more drama. And I'm probably being selfish in regards to it because I don't want to have to deal with DMs and drama from the people involved - cancelling the show for this year was in part to avoid that kind of stuff.

And before the discrepancy-police chime in again with "you're avoiding drama when you're the one wanting to hear about it" - my original post was more in regards to drama in the years gone by. It would actually be interesting to hear stories from 2005-2010 for a n00b like me.. and even more interesting to hear where the people involved ended up these days. With so many independent artists making toys throughout the years there has to be some interesting yarns.

For example, Angel Abby have a pretty turbulent history when it comes to the boards here. I heard last year that Killer-J is/was the same guy who owns Angel Abby? Looking at the sculpt of the re-designed Sarumon and the sculpting techniques used in a few Angel Abby sculpts (that telephone monster guy, the decayed zombie thing) I can see a similarity there. Anybody heard the same thing? It's not super scandalous but pretty interesting if the two are connected. Info like this helps clarify toy history and connect the crazy diverse network that the sofubi scene is connected by.

I miss the days when flippers would let you know if you were qualified to collect Bemon or not...
How am I even supposed to know now?

Just scan the barcode on the inside of your wrist, silly! I think the service is Android-only for now, but I've heard that an iOS patch is due later in the year.

So, that's absolutely what it comes down to after all. You keep shoveling away at that hole, I'm afraid I can't handle the intense drama..!!1!

You got exactly what you asked for in starting this thread Glenn, to say otherwise is disingenuous. Like Sokko said let's let this thing die off or properly rename it the Food Crimes of Skullbrain. That's way more interesting in all honesty.

Bull balls aka Rocky Mountain Oysters...what are people's thoughts?

I've had em once. I found them stringy and uninviting. Go figure.

So I'm assuming you want stories from the era of:
    HMS
    Geo
    Kozik
    Pogue
    Etc etc
I wasn't there but saw the aftermath I guess

I've heard tale of an unfadeable member. Legend is you just can't do it, fade him. Can't be done.

Sounds like an Unfadimal. They used to be pretty common around here, but most were hunted down for food when we ran out of cheeseburgers during the Cola Wars of '89. I wore an onion on my belt, which was also fairly common at the time.
    "Culinary"..! COOOOOOLINARY, you hillbilly philistine!!

Apparently I have an M.O., that's news to me! But just an fyi, in the USA "blows up in your face" can literally be "oh this thing didn't go as planned and is kaput now." We use over-the-top phrases a lot. It doesn't mean "apocalyptic explosion ended all life in my world and I'm going to die in relentless agony."

Since most of us seem to have returned to food...
I ate two orders of Taco Bell's new fries on release day. I actually marked the release day on my calendar.
They are amazing dipped in nacho cheese, and I don't care what anyone says.
If it's flaming greasy garbage, well, it's my flaming greasy garbage.
2 orders of it are mine.

Its weird, I've heard this a few times on SB but Angel Abby has always been reliable and totally trustworthy with me. She even sent me a Miyuki for Xmas one year, completely out of the blue, just because she knew i collected them.

I've never had any bad experiences with AA at all, and that is over many years of collecting.

If we don't talk about it anymore, there's probably a good reason for it. I don't see the need to dredge up ugly history for the sake of fleeting amusement. Let the past stay in the past.

Honestly if you wanna dredge up the past (for yourself to read) just go to a section like Japan Toys or Whatever, start at page 464 and just click on a topic you find interesting and knock yourself out reading. Most threads aren't that long but if you see something getting into 6-7 pages probably some drama in there somehow but I really don't recall too many spats till 2008-09. You never know what you'll discover. I don't get why no one searches here? Everything is here already. Our whole past for anyone to see.

I agree with Daniel though- let sleeping dogs lie!

I do not believe Killer-J is the owner of Angel Abby. The J added to Killer is the first letter taken from his name. The president of Angel Abby is Cheng Lin.

Also I have bought directly from Angel Abby. Never had any issues with them.

This is, in my opinion the best mass-produced peanut butter out there
perfect blend of consistencies... 100% spoon-able

That bear is looking awfully suggestive. Are you sure that's peanut butter for food?

I kid. I've actually never seen that brand before, it must be pretty darn good to cross the border for. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled next time I'm shopping.
