Loved it except for a few miniscule gripes (CG monsters still look like shit). Writing, sound-design and camera work are nothing short of fantastic.
I concur completely (just a regular polar bear with a bad attitude would've worked equally well and not felt quite as 'forced'). Just started 'Godless' and hoping that's on par!
I saw the trailer for this a week or so ago and have it on my 'to watch' list Currently watching 'The New Legends of Monkey' and loving it. Reminds me of Xena. I'm a big fan of 'Monkey Magic' and the 'Journey to the West' story / graphic novels so maybe i'm biased.
Having only seen the first episode, I must respectfully, but nonetheless very strongly disagree. They ain't got nothin' on arctic bleakness & man-icebear-pig so far... ButIwillofcoursekeepwatchingforfuck'ssakeIevenwatchedtheentireseasonofTheHandmaid'sTalewwhatiswrongwithmylifefuckunetflix??!?
Just watched on Hulu and blown away by how good this was. Top-notch quality across the board. Enjoyed the mini GoT Tully family reunion (despite Edmure & the Blackfish not appearing on screen together). The high production value felt reminiscent of Taboo (assuming due to Ridley Scott's involvement)... which is long overdue for its 2nd season. Late to this party, but the thread resurrection seems appropriate considering The Terror's new story is currently airing. Surprised there's been no mention of it here yet. Doing my standard banking-to-binge once finished. Is anyone watching and care to share their (spoiler-free) first impressions?
The first one, Penned by Dan Simmons will be hard to beat... Sorry but very true. The current one is an exercise in american heart break. Good as a history lesson, considering the current cultural climate here. but, i'm not sure if it's well written? I will have to see it through. ...
Just to clarify, you are talking about The Terror, right? I totally forgot about this, and would like to try watching it before we cancel Hulu. We've already cancelled Amazon Prime, so I'm really hoping that you're saying you just watched it on Hulu.
^ Season 1 is up on Hulu. The Terror: Infamy is an AMC and paid 'season pass' streaming thing, presently.
Cool - thanks! From what I gather S1 is the Dan Simmons story, but S2 is unrelated? Only interested in the Simmons story (for now at least).
Yessir (thank you Mr. Tooth for the assist). Definitely worth a watch before jumping the Hulu ship. Enjoy.
Another great show. Season one is stronger. Acting, writing, just better. But Season two is also really good.
