Anybody else take the plunge on Cobra Kai on YTR? It followed sort of how i thought the story line would go, but some nice surprises to throw me off. Kind of made sense to wait so long. There is some cheesiness, but overall not bad for YTR content.

Aggretsuko is amazing, I was crying when she first broke into her death metal mode. Compared to any animation Sanrio has done before, this is completely different and surprisingly in line with the times.

    Anyone watch The Rain ?
In short, a teen romance version of El Eternauta. Not bad.
Next serie in line : Tabula Rasa.

Gonna give a rec for Cargo. Love me some Martin Freeman and although I'm tired of the zombie sub-genre, it's nice to see him in any genre films (gotta see Ghost Stories now!). There's some nice original touches in regards to the infected and a couple that are fairly creepy. Overall it's a drama set against a pandemic and it works on a couple levels.

Anybody have a look at the remix of Arrested Development's fourth season? Suspicious.

Not yet. Rewatched the original cut a fews months back so planning to give it a go before S5 hits. Appreciated it a tad more on the 2nd run through but all-in-all still not good. Suspicious is Hurwitz's intent behind the 'remix'. Doing it to placate upset fans is one thing, but (from his own mouth) it was primarily for syndication eligibility ie: a money grab.

I have nothing but love for AD's original run. Truly ahead of its time, and to say I was heartbroken when Fox cancelled would be an understatement. That said, Season 4 was a huge mistake. Major flaw wasn't the Rashomon-style storyline, it was the scheduling conflicts. The absence of pure comedic gold the Bluth family generates as a cohesive unit left the show feeling empty and out to sea. Re-cutting S4 to play in a chronological order doesn't fix that problem.

Higher hopes for S5 as it seems the cast will primarily be together this time. Trailer was chock full of call-back's which is fine by me... so long as the season isn't entirely propped up by them. Slightly bummed that only the first 8 episodes will be hitting this month, with the second half dropping sometime later this year.

New season of Trollhunters drops tomorrow! Really enjoyed it so far. Kids stuff mostly but all I really watch is horror and cartoons.

There is also a new F U N K O documentary on netflix that I am curious about but not nearly curious enough to actually watch. Who is going to take a bullet for the rest of us?

I just watched the trailer @Waterbear ... I don't think I can do it. Would be cool if it actually took a look at where Funko started, and the evolution of the brand - but judging from the trailer it's just a huge circle-jerk with a bunch of "comic-con" celebrities saying how great the toys are. Pure fluff.

Just watched it Making Fun:The Story of Funko It was better than I expected it to be. Few of the Funko execs have cool collections such as vintage Batman, 80's skateboard decks. The collection shots (of funko) will definitely be cringe worthy to most here. I'd recommend giving it a whirl.

The Toys That Made Us season 2 is up now!

I have no interest in Hello Kitty or Star Trek toys but The Transformers episode was fantastic!

The Star Trek episode, much like the actual franchise, was boooooooring as hell. Transformers was GREAT, and I’m movin’ onto Lego next. Hello Kitty will be interesting to watch, just for the historical aspect. My lady’s a huge Sanrio nerd.

My lady’s been tryin’ to get me to watch Aggretsuko for a while now. She showed me the trailer, and the metal is pretty heavy in it! I love how much of an actual reflection of salary women/men in Japan it is. I’m not against it, I’m actually excited, but I just keep forgetting. I’ll be gettin’ on that soon.

Whether you love or hate Funko, which I personally don’t care much for them past their early mascot toys(but I hate bobble heads), they have a pretty interesting documentary called Making Fun.

That fucked me up on all sorts of levels. I read about the story and saw the original video when I was in high school. The way the actual case played is WILD. Law & Order couldn't even have written some shit like that.

Speaking of wild, Wild Country is pretty good, too.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but this new batch of The Toys That Made Us episodes did nothing for me... but it could just be that annoying rip-off of the GI Joe animated movie theme song that puts me in a bad mood before each episode starts

That's what the Skip Intro option was made for.

I liked the Hello Kitty and Transformers episodes, but Star Trek was a yawn fest, and Legos hold zero part of my interest. The intro is easily the worst thing about this series, and one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard, for sure. But like Prssd said, thankfully there’s the skip intro option.

Ain't no skip intro option with torrents.. it's ok, I'll listen to it and cultivate more anger to add to to the pile as I transition into my grumpy old man 40s

I like the toys that made us, but it's a bit flashy. I wish it was toned down a bit because the footage/info. is great, just the narrator's voice and the overall shooting of it makes me tune out a bit.

the cool thing about the funko movie was how they were showing famous peoples collections. As a collector I love looking at floor to wall collections. Makes me feel like maybe I'm not so crazy.

I understand that the toys series is made for families, but the whole style of it doesn't hold me... weird to be complaining that a program about plastic dollies would make me feel talked down to, ha! Glad it works for so many of you.

I probably will check out the Star Trek one, as I find the OST significantly less bland than dear Robert does.

It's like feeling your house is too cluttered and then watching an episode of Hoarders and feeling much better!
