I knew this dude looked familiar! Whenever I go over to the Japanese supermarket in the next town over, I always buy these "Corn Puff Snack (Karl Cheese Flavor)! Where is Karl originally from?

As far as i'm aware he's an original mascot for the curls, by Meiji. You know how the Japanese love mascots . . . I find it amusing his name is spelt with a 'K' just like Karl Pilkington.

I think the actual name of the snack is "Karl", because they couldn't copyright "Curl", or something like that. The design is by Hikone Norio, who also did the Suntory penguins and various other things.

Vintage Ledraplastic Dog and Donkey with a Combex cat (the donkey is 14" high)
I've seen the cat marked as Ledraplastic as well. I assume some of these manufacturers buy molds/masks from each other.

Bought a bunch of vintage European keyrings recently. Here's three of the best ones.
Mostly promotional charms. I assume the Dam Troll is a knock-off and not official merch.
The green one has what looks like 'Melor Amsterdam' stamped on the back.

I've been searching for one of these for a long time in decent condition. The antenna are usually snapped off whenever they usually show up (which is very rarely) so i was very happy to grab this one. I think they were all made in Ireland.

Vintage plastic / vinyl coasters. I reckon late 1970's but could be 80's.

Vintage Maisie and Marlon from 'The Perishers' 1979
I never see these out in the wild so it was a big surprise to find this pair for 30p each.
The Perishers is one of my all time favourite newspaper comic strips.

Vintage baby rattles, most probably bath toys. Made of hard plastic. All of them made in England.
Very likely 1950's but could be earlier.

Hebel Haus 25th anniversary coinbank. Was after this for a while... elephant, house, and base are three separate parts.
Design is by Hikone Norio (Karl)

Hebel Haus is a made-to-order house builder. They put a big inflatable elephant on top of their new builds to signify how sturdy they are:

I've been thinking about starting a Mario collection of those finger puppets. What a wonderful sight, to see so many of them all together!!!

Glad you like them... I've been amassing them for like 10 years so felt good to finally put them all together. Just found a Princess Daisy yesterday, funnily enough!

    Definitely, some of Nintendo's best!

Great shelves there, thanks for sharing. Much better than the type of Nintendo figures i see at boot sales (mainly McDonalds stuff). I dont suppose you recognise this deer?

Anyone else recognise the character? It makes me think of Osamu Tezuka for some reason. The red ribbon is a nice touch.

Yeah it's got Tezuka shoujo manga eyes, haha. Kinda looks more Western though.
