Just wanted everyone to beware of seller michaelaperrit-0 on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/usr/michaelaperrit-0…
This guy/s has scammed me twice with two different accounts. Notice the 0 feedback. The first picture is an auction I won from him/them in 2016 that never arrived ($27 too, what a steal! but too good to be true).
The second is one lot currently available from this seller. Crazy how people can just create new ebay accounts and continue to scam people even after being reported and having a forced refund. Their past ebay handles were seamureis0 and essendonbubbyfor2
I wasted a lot of time escalating these auctions as they continued to lie so just trying to save others the stress.
Anyway, buyer beware...don't say I didn't warn you!

Thank you Bryce! I was able to recover funds each time so only loss was time/energy. I informed eBay it was the same people after the second scam and they showed no concern so I don’t think there’s anything to do other than make others aware. I don’t even think they closed their account after each issue. I think the seller just made a different account. They even removed my negative on one because I had said in a message “If I don’t hear back then I’ll have no choice but to leave negative feedback.”
Apparently you can’t “threaten” the seller with negative feedback :?

Man, sorry you went through this, Ben. I nearly never buy from ebay at all anymore (mostly due to shipping issues); only a couple things over the last few years, but yeah, it has become such a bad marketplace generally I think. The sad part is, it isn't even about the money, sometimes you just want what you paid for. A refund is fine and good, but isn't that just to be expected? When you don't actually get a promised item, and then on top of that sellers are free to continue scamming/using dodgy methods on there, it makes it such a shitty experience. I recently went through something similar, and am just so crushed by not getting a toy I was really excited for. It was something I was chasing a long time, and set aside money for to treat myself for a special b-day gift. Not saying it was a scam as such, but too often nowadays you have little recompense in these matters. And, like you said, the whole system of negative feedback is fairly toothless nowadays, and certainly is not a deterrent to those who are on the market specifically to take people for whatever. Unfortunately, like many things in the modern world, it seems that ebay - completely aside from its monopoly* mind - is free to operate as it sees fit/at the lowest common denominator, simply due to the sheer number of users and transactions. Much like serving terrible food in a populated city, there are enough out there to keep the business model running, despite all intelligence that says it should improve or fail. This is [one area] where the all-hallowed model of capitalism fails, friends.

Anyways, short of it is, using ebay is becoming pretty terrible generally. Thanks for the warning to the community, Ben.

*And I am not even going to get into the whole Paypal and Global Shipping Program BS :x

I had an issue with a seller who refused to ship. when I contacted ebay, they told me to get a refund through paypal & just buy from someone else. they couldn't really grasp the concept that other sellers were not an option & apparently winning an auction isn't a binding contract, there is no penalty for the seller to relist the same thing at a higher price. In my case, the guy was holding out for more money before agreeing to ship. I used my powers of internet to find his home address & let him know I was coming for either my money or the item in question. I got a tracking number the same day.

tl;dr sorry you got ripped off & thank you for naming names, hopefully it helps someone avoid the same scenario since ebay doesn't enforce their own policy.

Very nice, indeed, very, very nice.

Security risk department at PP resolves quickly and without a doubt always do it right.

    So glad they keep records!

    Good karma for sure.

So glad to read you offered to help Ben.

Ben.. man that sucks but at least you got your money back. Fortunately, I never got ripped off by anyone via eBay and all my transactions have been flawless.

Have heard bizarre tales from others and it seems bonkers that stuff can go on and on. Sam by any other name etc.

Guessing being sick and disinterested in collecting does have its perks after all.
