    I think usd750 is a reasonable price for iluilu toys.
    I found some new sofubi brand is asking for usd400-500 with bad quality :x:x

    Yeah, some reservations on my end after hearing your impressions too. Trouble is I expect the hype will have these selling out fast, so I'll probably risk it anyway.

    Of course - these are 500yen figures so I shouldn't be complaining. However, there were previously 15 series worth of much higher quality figures beforehand. Maybe Medicom will change factories again, however it might not be until around series 19 or so depending on how far in advance things are with production.

    I own two sets and the first (Wonder Masamitsu) has two pieces that have QC issues, the Shelterbank set is perfect except for one guy where the "botched" painting almost seems to be an intentional personal touch (missing veins on the left side of both eyes). I'd assume on this production scale it's a mere question of luck whether you get a "flawless" set or not. Especially considering that paint jobs have only become more intricate along the way...

    Oh no, the paint is the least of the issues (even though it has declined but I'm not fussed on that) - the latest series (MVH, Jetturre etc) has a rubbery feel to the figures. Quite different to what squishy or 'soft' soft vinyl would feel like. They also stink like Hedorah took a shit. These feel like figurines you would get from a quarter capsule machine in ToyRUs.. but all of this is covered over in the Medicom thread.. I'm hoping they switch back to whoever produced the previous series.

    Honestly, the only VAG that have been any good were the Cosmos Project ones. Although those ones were absolutely amazing!

    I dunno, for 500yen I am more than content to fill a whole bucket full of these Ilu Ilu simians. I could care less where they are made, how much they are 'resaling' for, or what the production numbers are. They are fun toys of a great design. And anyone who can't appreciate the design that went into those Ilu Ilu boxes is probably looking in the wrong hobby. Cheap rubber toys that give you pounds of fun; that is what buying toys should be about anyways. :thumbsup:

    @ultrakaiju I think the boxes in the photo are just for the big guys and their omake, but I hope I'm wrong. Not really a 'connect' but if My Plastic Heart is selling them I'll look out for you ;) that's my local stop for VAG

    Yeah, I was just generally referring the the amazing quality and work that Ilu Ilu puts into their toys and packaging. I mean, yes, there is a lot of hype/'artist' aftermarket with the brand like others, but I can at least see where the complexity and extra layer of effort which goes into Ilu Ilu stuff warrants a premium.
