That King Kong ape in back of the hxs is really wonderful! Can you please tell me who made it, and if it is vintage? How big is he? Nice toy!
Thank you Grace, it´s a vintage bootleg piggy bank made in Mexico in the 80´s , the size is 15 inches and a half. I have only seen one in its original packaging and curiously it came in a mesh similar to the one used by HxS in its first gorillas, only that it had stapled a headercard on the top with a picture of King Kong similar to the one in the film of the 80's
Thank you @Alebrije , I appeciate the info. As soon as I saw it, it reminded me of the movie. It really is an appealing toy!
Not a total palette match, but these two felt good together. Like a villain and hero, dark and light.
My first Oni Kid meeting Pepy! When I thought about it there's some quiet similarity between these two--similar sizes, the horn or antenna poking up out of the head, and of course their blushing, smiling faces. I also like that Oni Kid is a creepy idea that turns out cute, while Pepy is a cute idea that's turned out a little creepy Oh, and for bonus points, I like to think they both have natural hair! Full fro on Oni Kid and tight curls on Pepy.
I know we don't do designer toys here, but I thought one of the few I still have kicking around looks right at home with a recent score!
Popy Miclas and MVH Plagueface to my eyes the overall forms, and the sculpting on the hands and feet especially, are very similar
^ Nice one! Not my snap, but the fella on the right reminded me immediately of another Gary that roams the lands:
