Try not to let it bother you too much. A single turd in a swimming pool ain't much by volume, but it definitely makes you want to bolt to the ladder. I only ignored one person on here that was just ruining the experience for me. It's a lot better with just that simple click, assuming you can trust yourself not to show their content and you can separate the pointless shittalking from the constructive criticism

Hey hey hey let's keep this thread about MVH and keeping Rich happy ok? Feel free to PM me about SVM.. oh by the way, remember that time we took a lot of time and effort to promote MVH at the first SVM in 2015 and sold a one-off for $1300? Was a great feeling to help the guy out and send him a chunk of cash for all of his hard work and such a beautiful intricate paintjob on his DC-13 sculpt.

    What don't you understand exactly @Roger ?

To be fair I did write this reply while I was out having lunch with a buddy so I guess it sounds a bit rushed. Let me break it down for you - MVH = Mutant Vinyl Hardcore, SVM = Soft Vinyl Mayhem (an Australian sofubi exhibit that began in 2015 and has been on hiatus since 2017). Rich put a lot of work into a Thermoborg one-off for the exhibit and we (myself and Jason, the event organisers) gave the piece a nice little spotlight in the promotion leading up to the event. We presented it as a key piece by one of the leading sofvi designers out there. Rich asked that we sell the piece for $1300 which we had no issue with as you could see the amount of time & effort he put into the paintwork.. plus I believe it was a little wink towards the "DC-13" name of the body sculpt. We sold the piece and had a genuine feeling of satisfaction in being able to send Rich a nice little sum of cash from the sale in our exhibit as a thank you for being involved and putting in so much work for the exhibit.

Thanks for the remaining 85%. I had no context for the abbreviations and this being Skullbrain, I thought your post could have been sarcastic.

Whatever happened to the MVH DC-13 Mechs? It seems only a few were ever made and the toy was then never brought back...

I had no clue just how hard it would be to paint without spray masks. I’ve been working to get them made so I can revisit them this year. They tough me an important lesson on design.

The two painted one-offs I've seen are just beautiful, so fingers crossed the mechs make a return :)

Yeah this was the run when I realized I need to have masks made. These guys took so so long to do since I wanted them clean. I don’t think they will need any more masks than what these need. The rest of the few spray works well.

I do miss them so much.

Wow, the paint on the GID run is really cool but that SVM terracotta paint job is fucking insane, you can really see the time and effort that went into it. Its a paint-app that suits the sculpt, and compliments it, so the paint shows off the design rather than distract from it.
I'm seeing too many technicolor yawn paint-apps nowadays!

Making masks through a factory gets expensive... For my standard size Sensorbat I made my own from fibre glass. Very very simple process, although I did cure them in a pressure pot to avoid air bubbles.

No chance on a high speed connection from the US either, even when the item was already placed "safely" in my cart. Disappointing.

It is disappointing. And we worked on that code for hours but no matter what we did it wasn’t working. I got a response back from the developer and they are gonna go in and see what’s up. It just couldn’t be completed before the drop. But, it will be corrected. So next drop once it’s in cart you can hit the reserve button and it will NOT get jacked.

This is the reason for switching to this cart system.

So I’m sorry to anyone who tried and didn’t get anything. I’m trying to do my best to fix everything as best we can with the tools we have.

The thing is I have no clue why they removed ig to begin with. Most likely to see me the app and force me to pay for a service that was included to begin with.

Congrats on the lightning fast sell-out, Rich! Those guys were absolutely killer. Sorry the tech didn't cooperate. At some level, a drop like this boils down to a lottery anyway.

I’ve learned my lesson. Lotteries are good for one single item. With this shop drop I listed 8 different vinyl figure options. There really would be no way for me alone to handle all the entries and rounding everyone up. So shop drop is the safest bet, but here come the other issues like what we saw tonight.

We’re gonna nail it down though !

I managed to snag a Death DX, which is also my first DX, and I’ve got to say, I feel so grateful. It’s been a couple years since I started collecting MVH, and I’ve been trying to get my hands on a DX ever since. I’ve gotten some gnarly other MVH pieces in the meantime and have had the chance to make some really cool and amazing friends through Deaths Vault shows. I consider this a very special marker in my collection and it’s so rad to nail a DX down to call my own. Cheers, Rich. It’s an honor to be a part of the MVH community. And your art is fucking great.

Shout out to that sturdy ass mall internet. I’d be taking the L without you. :)

Congrats Bradley. Really mean it. Your first dx, so exciting! I know I got a bone usir at five points, but I consider my first to be the DCon Sam. Waking up on the saturday of the show to see my place in line was high enough for a Sam.. I was simply ecstatic.

Not all of us were as fortunate to score marbles, myself included. But, it is stories like these that make me happy to be a part of the community. I look forward to seeing you and @Rich at the Spring show! These have become my favorite times in toy collecting
