Very happy for those who have been searching for this guy for so long, just look at the detail in this little guy! Crazy to think I took this photo roughly 8 years ago.. Enmago & Zizou by GoldenArmKid, on Flickr
It is indeed (and what a great photo that was!! I am sure it led many to chase of this set ) Very great to see these revived, and I somehow still hope, even with the incredibly difficult Buta climate, that these sorts of releases become obtainable. I also tend to view this as a positive sign towards Oohashi-san reviving other molds for early Buta figures that most [without those deep pockets] could only dream of finding.
Wouldn't know the first thing about tracking down a set but goddamn those are beautiful. Nothing quite like that sculpting style.
If anyone did actually manage to get any from the webshop in the few seconds (maybe a minute) they were up for grabs, then 5x beaver hat tip to you sir and madam, for I salute thee in thine excellent toy hunting. These are wonderful fellas, and I am sure/hope that they will only end up in collectors hands who will love and treasure them. I know already I won't be able to afford them in the aftermarket, not as it stands for Buta toys in 2019, so seeing such toys come out is more an exercise in sideline cheerleading, and sending best wishes for the fans who are able to play the chase.
The Enmago and Zizou set is definitely in my list of top 5 favorite toys of all time. Enmago is quite demonic compared to the cuteness of most of Buta’s sculpts. Plus it’s such a badass Ultraman Taro episode. Two long time excellent boardies helped me track this set down almost five years ago. Hats off to you, sirs.
Not sure where to ask this, but is there any secret to making King Joe stand up consistently that I'm missing? Tried stacking all the parts on top of one another, but it topples so easily there's no way I can display like that. On the plus, all the sections on their own are perfect and so many joints!
Mess with the legs until you get that piece standing as solid as you can. Then put the mid pieces on and then the top piece with the arms facing down and aligned with the body. Its very easy to knock over but will stand fine if you dont mess with it.
Thank you! And I wondered why the arms were facing backwards in so many photos. A little precarious, but it works.
Been busy at home, so it was a surprise to see that my one time grail Enmago was re-ished. So beautiful! But not a surprise to go shopping on Mandarake and YJA and see the prices. That, and the new (also very beautiful) goji are just hearbreakers. Congrats to all who scored!
Did I miss a new micro set release? Seen a painted Ultraman set twice on YJA now, and I can't find info elsewhere in this thread. Of course the first time it was sitting pretty at $80 and I lost at the last minute, so I hope it was another board member who picked them up for a cool $82 and shipping No such luck with the second listing, sadly. Looking like a hard hunt, but what isn't?
cant remember the name of those, but they are older and i think theres two different sets. @toothaction will know
My bad, the pic on the first listing I saw was much less clear, and I mistook one character for Kumoderan.
Triple Fighter Set B. Below is the original sales information from Buta when it was posted in the shop on July 9, 2016. Pic below are all three sets.
I noticed these are a little bigger than any of my other Buta micros. Maybe 1/4 inch. Not much but noticeable when beside other micros.
Reissue is significantly different. Here is the original for comparison again: View this post on Instagram
I actually ended up getting the Enmago Set for retail recently! Cannot wait to get it in the mail. Ill post some photos once it arrives
