I don't know how difficult it would be for a customizer to pull this off, but an anatomical ollie would be the sickest shit.

@Anti Social Andy goddamn that's a good idea. You think the lacquer would leave that bit looking uneven? Very tempted now. I know of a couple of studios in the city I could talk to about it.

@Sir Trog I don't want to cut the poor dude up even more  honestly the blank vinyl was a big draw for me with this toy so I'd like to leave as much intact as possible

Since we are all piling on now, I second the anatomical Ollie custom idea. I know I've seen some good anatomical customs out there, just can't remember any at the moment. Would be very cool to see!

Also, sorry that happened to you @zindabad. I had a similar thing happen. My first ollie I ever won was the coral and I had it sent to my house. Someone stole the package off the front steps and I've never been able to replace it. Last time I ever had something like that go to my house.

Doji as a character has absolutely grown on me and I love how this photo came out. I missed out on the painted last year but was still able to get both marbles, which are absolutely wonderful. In 2019, I am looking most forward to the fight figures. But I hope along with them we can see another painted Doji!

Also, Leviathan is making a return... what?!?!?! That is so freaking exciting for me! The big guys are what got me into MVH aftef all. I am sure that when I do eventually acquire that first one (whether ollie, zerk, or leviathan), I'll be on top of the world. The run looks sizable too!

Lastly, we should be hopefully getting more news on the first half of the year soon (re: DV/Shows). Personally I am hoping for a trip to DV in addition to the DV tent at five points. Maybe I was spoiled for seeing Rich all four times last year, but i'm hoping there are at least three again in 2019 (spring, fall, five points, &?)

Play that video a few hundred times to be more accurate

Leviathan has been my #1 grail for a couple of years now. I have never seen one pop up in the aftermarket, only private sales that cost as much as a couple of mortgage payments :?

@Rich Tying into the conversation about someone having 2 of 5 of the DV BS1 Leviathans, I'm curious, do you normally remember the rough run number of your figures easily? Or just the key ones?
Like this Leviathan was easy because it was only 5 although it was 2+ years ago or because it was a favorite?
Versus you'd have to look through your notes for how many Test Bites are out there, for example.

I assume everyone keeps Excel files tracking everything because I'm a nerd engineer.

    Engineering nerds FTW!

I could never be a toy artist because I'd spend entirely too much time on data analytics and stuff like this haha

USPS hates MVH, as is tradition!

Just got some of the shop drop order. Everything showing out for delivery but one box is mysteriously not on the truck

That being said, Krampus is perhaps the heaviest vinyl per square inch I think I have. I weighed him compared to the Skullbrain Death's Head DX I have: 138 vs. 222 grams, 60% heavier! Granted, he got a big ol' casaba melon of a head comparatively, but I was surprised at the thickness and weight of the vinyl.

There is a reason Obitsu has the reputation it does.

My KSK landed today. I’m pleased as punch. Obitsu quality ain’t no joke. Definitely some of the thickest, heaviest vinyl I own pound for pound.

I dig the larger DX head size too. It gives the figure more of a presence while still fitting the DX body really well.

The spikes on the KSK are wicked. I’m gonna leave him on my bedside table as a defense weapon in case of home invasion. You could seriously fuck somebody up with this toy!

Yeah this round of blanks was super fun. Just got back from a 10 hour day and was psyched to open mine up. Great mix of releases and ultra high quality, as usual.

You know, I gotta say, from photos I originally thought Science Patrols marbling was better. But now with both an Obitsu in hand and a Science Patrol they are both unique in their own way.

Science Patrol I think adds a more uniform marbling, especially for Rich's style with a lot of deep areas like the rib cages on the DX frame.

But each Obitsu I see has a specific part that looks really good. I've seen KSKs with awesome spikes, fantastic eyes, a great teeth. My Krampus I feel has this great dirty face but a clean red tongue.

I was not able to score a marble but I was able to get this slick black Krampus, which is actually really exciting for me in the end. I wouldn't have considered commissioning a beautiful marble, but with a solid black I didnt have the same reservations. This is actually my first ever commission, too! I shipped him off to Asia this morning, and I can't wait to see how it turns out. I'll be sure to share when the time comes!

    Details!

Who did you send him out to?

I'm considering Naoki Okamoto, if he even does them. Bug0061 is up there too.

It's a secret! I want it to be a surprise. lol  But, he is someone I really admire as a painter and toy maker. And he has done MVH commissions before which I think look great. I think that the Krampus should be an excellent fit for his style.

I only made 10 each of the blanks available. So they were for sure much more limited. I guess there is only 9 out there now.

Not mad at all, just pointing it out.

And yeah for sure the vinyl obitsu pulls are insanely thick. They also cost three times as much pre blank compared to every where else. But man that solid a figure is something to hold.
