If you live close by a Michael's, they sell this awesome shot glass display. My local Michael's had it on sale for $20+, but my friend got his for $8 and $10 elsewhere, so it varies by location. I think it's perfect for those vinyl around 6 inches.
Nice group! Love those Samus (Samuses? Sami?) Several of us also use the baseball bat cases from Michaels. They are perfect for most fight sized figures. I'll snap some pics later but I use them for Kumon, Secret Base, and Sametans. Plus they give you an extra shelf on top! Harddragon has some good pics of his on IG. I think they are usually $60 but I've always gotten them for $30 using coupons/sales.
I think I’m about to pick up one of those bat cases myself, they were on sale when I checked online last night. Just need to figure out where to put it...
Hell yeah! Any of these thick shadow box displays are great to put even more toys on top. The baseball bat display case is good for 3 & 3/4" action figures, like Kenner or Reaction. Again, the price varies by location, but if you ever go to a Michael's, they've always got a coupon going on, and they'll even accept competitor coupons too.
As a rough guesstimate, even with the $30 coupons, I'd need around $4,500 worth of baseball bat cases . . . I'll stick with Ikea!
I might have to get 1of these for my wife's Ghoul collection, it might be perfect size. Thanks for the heads up.
Since I go for blanks mostly I have been having a blast filling these fish tanks with toys. Walmart sells this one for less than 15 bucks and it's huge at 22” x 12” x 13.5”. You can also buy a specific lid for it dirt cheap as well but it has mesh in the center you would need to cover to avoid dust accumulation. A little annoying to rearrange the toys if you stack them but the price is so ridiculously low it's still worth it. I've been making battle scenes in them with some of my little cousins and they love it. Can't even get lunch in the city for 15 bucks anymore so this thing is seriously cheap. Some of the reviews complain about the silicone seal leaking if you fill it to the top with water but that doesn't mean anything If you are using it for toys! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Aqua-Culture-10-Gallon-Glass-Aquarium/144433503
I think someone mentioned me about the baseball bat dysplays. This is an older pic in my old studio (currently moving and will have more updated shots as I have 5 of these filled now) but I’ve been using the baseball bat displays for about 5 years now. They comfortably fit 9 kumon was n each. You could do 10 but they would all be holding hands. Also makes a great shelf on top so you can arrange them all kinds of ways. I just picked up 3 more on Easter Sunday for about $20 each. I should be able to fill another 2 and have one extra for later
Thanks everyone. I can’t wait to re set up the new studio over the next couple months. I’ll update a photo here. It was Easter Sunday. They were 50% off and then I got another 25% off coupon added online for ordering and picking up in store so I grabbed 3 of them basically for the price of 1. They usually always have 50% off however that makes them $30 and that’s a pretty good deal for what you get.
Just checked the Michael's website https://www.michaels.com/studio-decor-baseball-bat-display-case/10174362.html If you paid the regular $65, you should return it! Shipping is free if you have the order shipped to a store for pickup. Or if you want a four-stack... https://www.amazon.com/Baseball-Ball-Cabinet-Display-Mount/dp/B012YCUWTA?th=1 *Comes in a number of finishes. The lighter finish would probably make the toys stand out better? And perhaps change the "background" by slipping in a "wall paper"? I decided to change the battleship gray backboard on my Ikea wall display cases this way, and it looks much better! Hint: If you want the option of changing the "wallpaper" background from time to time, without marring the finish of the original backboard, put small strips of 3M Wall and Wood Blue Tape https://www.homedepot.com/p/3M-1-88...er-s-Tape-with-Edge-Lock-2080EL-48N/100170037 (don't use the cheap blue tape, the adhesive is too strong) on each corner of the base board and then stick velcro strips to the back of the wall paper and adhere to the blue tape strips. The 3M Blue Tape strips can be changed every 6 months (I actually peeled off the last remaining masking strips on my new hardwood floors, after 1.5 years, and it peeled off cleanly) or so to prevent the adhesive from getting too sticky, more often if there is strong sun/heat on the cases.
