    ^^ The rabbit with duck penis has a little Ultraman omake in its hand, not sure if they're infringing copyright there. Regardless of my opinion on the fugliness of these toys, the price is a joke.

    I saw a blog/shop online today that described their toys as 'Upscale Sofubi'. Is that a code for 'Elitist Wanker Collectables'? Just go back to buying designer watches you fucking twats.

    Guess I'm partially to blame.

    So, I have a black version I still haven't put together b/c I'm building up the courage to paint it before assembling.

    I just really like it as a monster concept.

    Have you seen this Little Shop of Horrors Homage?
    I mean, isn't that sort of cool at least???

    [IMG]

    I was even playing around in photoshop mocking up colors I'd like to try when I grow the balls to paint it:

    It's not bad in my opinion, but I it has a lot going on. I think if it removed the top 3 heads and changed the silhouette of of the side heads it would be pretty neat. Lots of people like this sort of thing though, so I imagine it will do well.

    I can understand that.
    However, I think all the heads are the best part. At least those were what attracted me to it.
    If I was going to simplify things, I'd eliminate the spikes on the back and maybe the tusks.

    It is huge though. Really just a beast.

    @SpectralNight
    Indeed, each to their own. If other people like it that is cool, I just like throwing stuff i think is fugly at this thread and seeing what sticks. Some times people agree, some times they dont.

    I did also think of Audrey II when I saw the mouth, and thats one of my criticism's, the whole toy just reminds me of other things. Xenomorph heads on a squat body with stumpy legs (like so many of these newer monsters). It also makes me think of overly detailed digital sculpts (if its not digitally sculpted it looks it). Personally I like Kaiju Sofubi to look like a toy. I'm a toy collector, and I don't collect models, so a lot of these overly detailed/ornate sculpts don't do it for me. They just look like models or scale figures, like Hot Toys or whatever. They don't have that fun/playful stylised look, that I think is integral to being categorised as 'Toy'. I wanna see thumb prints in the damn sculpt!. For example, i think Mirock has got too ornate recently, he always was very traditional and arty but his stuff nowadays does'nt look like toys anymore to me. They are more like actual pieces of art. Which is fine, but its just not for me as a toy collector.

    Anyway, what the hell do I know? I collect Tinkle Tots for fucks sake! Half the stuff I collect people would throw to their dog without a second thought!

    Not digitally sculpted, sculpted by hand by Kazamatsu, who also runs marmit and Skull Head Butt. All the Karzworks figures are heavily detailed like this. I also really love this figure, what’s funny is I collect some Karzworks but didn’t like this one either, then I saw one at the destroy all monster show and fell in love with it. Went home that night and bought a black kit on YJA.

    @JoeMan
    Exactly, its a model kit not a toy! I appreciate a gifted sculptor the same as anyone but when the detail is pushed way up it starts to look digitally done to me.

    That Audrey II paint-up is killer and brings out the best in that Karzworks sculpt. Just terrifically beautiful and fun. Is it one of Akamatsu's paints?

    Ah well, im out voted. I still think @badteethcomics name for it was very descriptive: 'Gangbang Peanut'. Of course he knows better than anyone what fugly looks like, it peers back at him from the mirror in his bathroom every morning :razz:

    I haven’t been following it closely, but I think those are collab sculpts with Izumo. Unquestionably his paints. Definitely not for me, though.

    I love Dehara and almost everything he does but these sculpts probably aren't for anyone.
