The prices are all going to be different because of the varying degrees of time/effort/materials. If you buy that Mechavirus one you'll be getting a Nixie tube!

EDIT: For reference, Club Daikaiju has been charging around $100 for the standard releases of the mama/baby sets in the past. I would expect each artist's set to be priced above that amount.

it was lotto ball style. so everyone got their fair chance at all the unbox releases... basically wait in line, aaron was spinning a lotto ball machine and you simply pressed the lever to pull a ball. if the ball was any other color besides orange, you could buy an exclusive of your choice at the booth. if you lost you could get back in line. i went through twice and won twice. second time i tried for the retroband tomb but it was already sold out. ended up helping a fellow boardie grab his chibi set because of the sell out.

You guys ever see the movie twister? Well I’m the cow flying by!! That’s how it felt for me. But it was such a blast and I’m stoked for everyone who got what they wanted and/or more. Seeing familiar faces and learning new ones. Pretty pumped cuz reading this thread before hand made me almost second guess going but I’m glad I did.

@eckotyper I thought Unbox’s lotto balls and your paper, rock, scissor fight were both innovative and as fair as possible for everyone. And @coma21 hyping the matches was so entertaining and hilarious.

@HardDragon I'm stoked you made it, man. This thread really highlights people’s trepidation for DCon as a general convention, but we as collectors and a community are very much still the building blocks of what makes coming together so awesome. It’d have been a shame for you to miss out on that.

Props to those who were on the thread staying up to date on things for those that weren't able to attend. every time a convention comes up it becomes a blur of the weekend. minimal sleep, eats, legs ready to give out. but oh so worth it.
I personally didn't have a huge list I was after this year, and I managed to clear most of it. I would of been able to clear more had I of just went to places when I was suppose to instead of saying i'll stop by later.
To be honest I didn't rush to any booths at the start of the show this year. Actually rather nice that I sit here and think about it. I did not know M1Go made a big tower. Mikee had one and put a toy he bought on it, and I was hooked. I missed it lol, but its okay, I heard they make more for most events. The aisles weren't crazy big like last year, and it still felt like a great atmosphere where you didn't have to sift through people to get by. that was great. I walked the convention I'd say twice, but I still missed so much. just because i was sifting to kill time. A lot of the booths are just walk bys to me, and some seem that way, but probably deserve the stop and look. I try and stick to my list as much as possible, just so you don't start compulsive buys that turn to a for sale thread down the line. Some damn cool stuff was available regardless though. Some of the Lotto lines pushed me away just because of how long it was to get a ticket.
I feel like some of us are starting to get a better lay of the land. It would be fun if the majority of the sofubi was in one area of the con, however that could be reckless as well when you start thinking of queing lines. Probably would make the flipper cartel with better access to snatching up more stuff as well.

Last but not least. Carl got the death stare. I started to see his soul leaving his body in the Punk Drunkers line. I'm glad he survived to see another day. lol

Did anyone check out the Mondo Pulgasari? I was kind of looking forward to it, seemed like the sculpts were very film accurate and similar to the vintage Waterbull which are pretty pricey these days. But the pictures of the paint apps I’ve seen look like metallic vomit. Kind of like when funko started their sofubi line and just did rainbow metallics all over everything. Maybe some blank bootlegs will pop up like the mad balls and I can paint my own.

Yep, the green and red don’t look bad from a distance, but up close the metallic paint is much more visible. Not that I don’t like metallic done properly, M1 is a perfect example of using metallic properly. But these are coated head to tail in metallic with no base vinyl visible. The big one is better in terms of paint but I like the smaller sculpt and scale more.

I know it was lotto style which was cool of them to do, but when i got to their booth around 10:30 everything was already sold out so i had guessed they started at 9 with the lotto balls. if they really did start at 10 then boy do i regret not going to their booth as soon as i got there

I’m a little slow. I had to go back to older threads to realize that’s Rat Bat Spider and Night of the Living Dead.

Yes, that's the M1 mini. I think this is the first time they've sold red blanks.

Yeah I was stoked that they brought those. I didn't have any real time to go back to their booth on Saturday, I was hoping to pick up a few more blanks but the mini red Antlar was the only thing left that really appealed to me by the time I got back there on Sunday.

Actually, I've had red and blue blanks of the balloon-blower M1 Antlar for several years now. From what I've seen, they've been produced in red, blue and green vinyl, with several painted versions of each (although I have yet to see an unpainted green). My vague recollection is that they were given out as prizes at shows.

I had a blast at Designer-Con. It was great to meet a lot of Skullbrainers for the first time as well as reconnect with some old friends. The show itself was SO vast. We were so busy that I probably only saw about 1/3 of what was there. Based on some of the posts in this thread I wasn't expecting it to be such a positive experience but I'm glad that turned out to be the case.
