Not sofubi maybe, but a fine discovery indeed. That is gorgeous G, and probably significantly tasty too! That one is going on my 'wish list' for sure. I like how the characters are so obviously representing 'licensed' counterparts, but, near as I can figure it anyways, this is absolutely original artwork done for Le Trou du Diable. Frankly, I'd take a poster of it alone, it's fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

Very cool. It is the title card for the USA release lobby card set for Destroy all Monsters.

Oh, you are totally right, thanks for clarifying that up. Mark. I thought it might be, as this seemed so detailed, and a pretty involved project for a beer label, but as I said, I couldn't pin down the source. I guess I have just been so used to seeing the original Japanese version, or variants on it, where the characters are rendered much more akin to their 'on screen' versions. And I think the only 'English' Destroy All Monsters poster you see now is the modern take. As I said, I completely love this interpretation, it feels like a bootleg or weird foreign movie poster art. The characters are so great in their different-but-recognisable fashion. I wonder if they actually licensed the use of this, or it is more an 'under the radar' attempt.

For those who care, the posters in question:

Fun fact: Monster Sushi used to be named Godzilla Sushi until they got a cease & desist letter from Toho. They also have a restaurant in NJ, used to be in Summit but is now in Morristown. Pics here:

They used to have scaled-up copies of the Dark Horse Godzilla comic art on the walls in the Summit location.

Logan Arcade in Chicago has a lot of jumbo machinders above the bar, plus some other Super7 items.

^ I wonder if you can take sofubi and machinder chasing as a tax write off in such contexts.

Depends on how they're purchased, maybe? Upside, if something happens to the bar you can claim them on your insurance. Downside, if you go bankrupt, they're assets to be liquidated. (This is all speculation by me, I am not an accountant.)

Actually, I completely missed the background while I was having my own look, but @Bounch had the eyes of an eagle.

    How is that Yikes ?

I was thrilled, It’s actually very cool to see this.

When it popped up in the outsider, I immediately started to wonder who in production collects toys like these, who is on the inside. Because these aren’t just happenstance. Someone signed off and knows.

Please, let’s not start with the negativity. It’s definitely not yikes, this putting down of everything is getting out of hand.

It's funny - I'm not putting down anything. All I hear over and over again from several people no matter what I post is "stop being negative, stop being an asshole".. kinda grinds my fucking gears sometimes y'know.

If I didn't think it was cool why would I take the time to capture screens and post about it?

Over the years I've noticed @Rich occasionally observe how negative Skullbrain is. Yes, it can be negative, but it is also positive just as often. I'd like to know exactly how 'this putting down of everything' is 'getting out of hand'.

You're not our dad mate, stop telling us how we should behave! Overall I think SB is way more positive than negative.

^^^Another underground niche being assimilated into the mainstream!

You should think yourself lucky . . . I think a number of the old guard tend to keep most of the negativity between like-minded-individuals to avoid offending the powers-that-be and being labelled a 'Troll' whenever posting something that doesn't tow the party line!

This is as 'rainbows and unicorns' as most get on an open forum!
