This was a line form the early 200s time frame - the same time as the unifive repros. It only lasted about a year or so. The figures don't stand up so well, but they made 7-8 different figures. I think I have 6 of them. You used to be able to get them super cheap on yahoo, they were not popular.
Anyone out there have a picture link to the Unfive Kamen re-issues of the standard sized KR villains. I'm something of a compleatist...slow and steady...but man! those reissues are confusing the heck out of me. Would like to know once and for all which have been reissued and perhaps any way to tell the difference between them? -thanks
I know The Wolf, Batman, Mantis, Scorpion, Sarracenia, and three versions of the Shocker guys. I have Wolf, Batman, and Sarracenia, but don't own any real deal standard vintage KR Villains so I can't comment on their belts. I suspect the reissues have thinner cheaper belts and there would some markings on the bottom of the feet distinguishing vintage vs reissue.
Finally scored the last giant villain I was searching for, Jigoku Sanda. Had some nice weather this weekend so I went for a group shot outside.
Oh wow, complete and utterly impressive. Congratulations! You've amassed ones in particularly nice shape as well, I should point out to anyone unfamiliar. That alone warrants a pat on the back. A lovely photo too. These guys look perfect against a natural backdrop. Thanks for taking the time, and for sharing it with us.
Ha Jonathan I was going to post a comment on Flickr today but since I refuse to upgrade my browser they won't let me! Fucking Flickr what a joke anymore. Anyhow really impressed you found them all. Great shot. What is it about taking toys outside that makes them just look so much better?!
Congrats XVivaHateX amazing collection, I think the others have already said everything, I can only say that is a delight to see your photo.
Thanks for the nice comments guys. Im still missing the aconite one but im not too keen on him (also a decent giant rider himself).
Any ideas what year this guy was released please?KODC2469 by i thorn, on Flickr KODC2490 by i thorn, on Flickr
This is the first giant Kamen Rider villain that I have been able to score, I hope in time to be able to catch the missing ones. Jigoku Sanda:
Thank you Jonathan, I totally agree with you, now that I have been able to catch this I am already thinking about those that I am missing, I hope with time and a lot of patience to be able to catch the rest of the gang. I know it won't be easy and less if I want them in good shape.
Thank you very much, unfortunately the photographs are not so good, they do not do justice to the figure, in person it looks better. Now the difficult thing will be to catch the rest of the villains.
Roger, what a beauty you managed to pick up. I bet it was no easy feat either. Jonathan is absolutely right, once you have one, and see how amazing these are in person, it is an easy hook to get caught on. And thennnn, as you get stuck in the KR bug, well I don't think I need to tell you how deep the well is.... you might never come out! :0 Just look to Scott for some of that, haha. Really though, you are selling yourself short - those photos are gorgeous! The wonderful detail of the sculpt, the hefty proportions, the great expression he has (especially with that paint); it is a heck of a great toy. The biggest problem now is finding the shelf space [and height!] to fit him; it's a great problem to have.
@Alebrije I think that I have managed to see all them online but the real hard catches are the Kamen rider themselves w removable mask and the yonezawa one. but I love that series!!!! congrats on the catch.
the big size rider is the last one I need. It not finding them thats the problem its paying for them. Prices have gone WAY up in the last couple of years. The yonezawa one used to be the cheaper of the two. One the other day went for like $550
@ultrakaiju You are right Steve does not fit anywhere, but luckily he barely cubes on the shelf because the horns it is a little bigger than the Giant Majin Sai. @fosa comun, @XVivaHateX, A few weeks ago this one was sold in Mandarake for 35,000 yen, unfortunately for me I didn't see it in time, but for the price I feel like we still have a chance to catch one at a decent price. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1129972388&ref=list&keyword=Kamen Rider King size&lang=en
