    Bullmark Hawaiian Gigan :)

I shot for the moon on this one and ended up landing. My first standard size Gigan, although I have admired many different vintage examples and all the reissues over the years. The massive cyborg cuts an imposing figure on the shelf with the bulky buzzsaw body and those huge claw hook arms. Prepare for battle!

@deafmetal I am going to bet my money on that beautiful Goji even though the Gigan will be a magnificent adversary. Congratulations for that Hawaiian version Mark!

Congrats again on the Hawaiian Gigan, Mark. That is a huge get! One of those extremely special purchases it is definitely worth going all out for. My experience has been that when these opportunities arise, not giving it everything we could only results in regret later. When it comes to long term, you will never remember or notice that extra bid you had to sacrifice, but having this new fellow on your shelf for years will always bring a smile and joy. He is lovely. I am glad you got him now, and the photos look astounding. Really wonderful example of a special toy.

The Godzilla is lovely too, another fine one in your extended family. I really like how he has nice silver coverage all over, but it isn't too heavily applied; just a nice accent 'sheen.' His silvered fists are especially great. Lovely red eyes on that one too.

Wow, beautiful one Michael!! What a great grab, that guy is one of the best, I love his derpy expression, and I think the purple with light yellow colour scheme is lovely. A special one to snag, and great for your KR villain family. Congratulations!

^ Aw, man! Gotta love behind the scenes toy chats, I've would have loved a public swing at your new giant friend, Rei! Thanks to regional UHF broadcasts there was only one character dollie that I wanted more than little Johnny's pal when I was a tot. Wouldn't learn that Sokko and Ultrafolk toys even existed until years later. Top nab.

Beautiful toy Rei, I am so glad he ended up in a perfect home. This guy always makes me smile. Lovely photo too, I completely fall for any outdoor vintage toy shots, but this is such great staging on that stump (mind if I come over and borrow it?) and then the added bonus of that great shadow silhouette. Mwah! Perfection. Thanks for sharing. :)

Thanks guys! I usually wait for cloudy days or a shady spot, but I was too excited about GR and took the pics anyway. The sun was setting and provided adequate drama, including the shadow that I wasn’t sure about at first. ;)

Congratulations, it is one of the best figures made by Bandai of the Kamen Rider villains, the sculpture is impressive and the color scheme works so well on the figure that it just makes it a winning piece.

I agree- the yellow and purple are top notch and match well with another kamen rider villain I have that is yellow and teal blue. I love any blood sucking vampire character as well

@Alebrije @rattanicus @djkemp @fosa comun - Thanks all, the Gigan is just amazing in hand (and ready to shred all kaiju!).

Thank you, Steve. This one caught my eye with that silver sheen on the lovely Marusan blue vinyl, which almost seems to have its own fluorescence. I like these variants quite a lot because it's kind of like a hidden feature. From some angles it just looks blue, but if you get the light just right that silver sheen will shine...

Tiny box showed up today via DHL. For those looking for an alternative now that EMS is stopped indefinitely, it took three days from tokyo to the east coast. these are two of the harder to find from the Osato line. Im getting there.

    Great minis, congrats both! :)

As for the DHL shipping, I guess it depends on the destination then. I have had boxes from DHL be all over the map pricewise (but generally very costly). And the shipping is certainly faster, around a week to the UK from Japan - nowhere near three days though. Glad that these arrived safely.

large ultraman jack. He was so yellow, it looked like he was the centerpiece in a hookah lounge for 10 years. An hour of soap & toothpaste, and not too bad

Nice new acquisitions @Shiverbones. So did the toothpaste manage to bring back some of the grey on your Jack, because he doesn't look too yellowed in that pic? I haven't tried this, for fear of the abrasiveness to the finish and particularly the paint, but I always interpreted the yellowing of the Bullmark greys to be more ageing/oxidation of the plastic, than surface staining. I have seen a lot of variation in the colour, some of which have gotten so dark to the point of being brown. I actually think it is sort of interesting, and makes each toy unique, but in the case of surface buildup (e.g. smoke, grime, etc.) I am totally with you in taking that back to show the beauty of the toy underneath.

He is definitely oxidized too, that part didn’t change, just the layers of funk on top. I tried to get pictures that show the true colors, but couldn’t do it, he has a light bronze hue in hand

even this before shot didn't really show how bad it was
