Yeah, that was the one. My brother an I played this game constantly, it was such a dear favourite of mine, and yes I both loved - and cursed! - that green 'sumo' baddie. It was only after several years that we realised if you used the second controller, you could actually BE the baddie (as player 2). This was a great workaround to actually being able to get somewhere in a super difficult game. [basically you could use the sumo to beat up the ninja, allowing Bruce to navigate all the many other obstacles of the levels :)] For sure we would never have come close to beating it without uncovering this secret.

I honestly loved this game so much (and still do) that my brother once got me a baseball tee with the pixelated Bruce Lee on it. I still have it and it makes me happy every time I wear it.

Ha, I am sure that was much better than I got on my own, Sophie. Similarly my brother (older) always wiped the floor with me in nearly every game; with the exception of some fighting games much later on in life. I think the only time I had some 'wins' was in Summer/World Games. I mashed those joysticks like nobody's business! [of skill, I had none  ] We had great times playing them all the same, even just 'watching,' which was mostly my role.

Just thinking of all those memories now is filling me with happiness. Thanks for that.

Those games series where great. I think I wrote off for a free Hackysack with California games. I think the only thing I beat my brother at was hunchback and skate or die. I played hunchback recently. I don’t have a clue how I mastered that thing the collision detection is bonkers now your used to PS4 stuff.

me and my friends still have a quote we use when we played robocop for the first time on the Amiga. “The graphics are Reeeeaaaaalll” . Anytime one of us shows our designs for feedback at least one writes back, yeah it’s nice but I’m not sure THE GRAPHICS ARE REAAAALLLL”

Yeah, Hunchback was difficult, the timing on the jumps was completely unforgiving.

That Bruce Lee reminds me of International Karate +. My brother loved that game, i remember he found the game boy port years later and was very dissapointed by the lack of moves and how simple it was. It ruined his nostalgia for it. Same thing happened recently when he played Double Dragon in one of the retro arcades we've been visiting the last couple years.

Bruce lee was a platformer International karate + was basically way of the exploding fist with different backgrounds...not sure if you had to punch a bull in that one. I did play it for a bit. But yeah I wouldn’t play it now, I seem to remember that summer doing repeated low kicks on peoples toes.

That sounds great, unfortunately I never discovered it back in the day.

I miss the public domain floppies on the Amiga more than anything. Party games anyone...anyone...

My best mate had an Amiga. It was very impressive at the time - probably the first time I saw (what I considered) arcade level graphics in the home. He then upgraded to PC, where I was always Game Boy/NES/SNES - Nintendo obsessed!
