Bought some more stupid rubber toys for 'enshrinement'

12" high, very rare colorway for this sculpt from Combex.

It would, but these old 'Nite Lites' are not worth the risk. They're large converted squeakers. The factory cut the base and fitted the light and switch and then drilled a few holes in the top of the sculpt to release hot air.

Even with the original low wattage bulb, the one I tested got extremely hot. Pretty much at the point of melting after a few minutes. I'm amazed they got away with selling them, but obviously this was before stricter health and safety laws arrived.

I know, I came here to edit that part out. You were ahead of me. My nerdy excitement overcame me. :)

Yep, mainly European. Spanish and Italian. Not so much English speaking, I think Italian Squeaky/Rubber toys are the pinnacle of vintage stuff ... Also, luckily for me, a lot of Combex is UK postage only.

    I'll shut-up now ...

Yeah I really like the Ledra Disney line. I also have some Nakajima Disney but those are more cute whereas Ledra is more “rough” looking

I think I know what you mean. I love Ledra for the tactile feel, the scale of their figures is larger than most, and they're very well made. Its one of the reasons I love squeakers so much. They're really durable. They have a weight and strength to them that you don't see in a lot of toys ...

Took a few years to find this pooch, in fact, more than just a few. I've always thought of him as the Chinese dog, but now i have him in hand i don't really know why!

Hole punched in the front most probably for a kids toothbrush.

    7" high.

Two vintage bears made by Rosebud, England. The standing bear is 5" high and the other is 3" high.

12" vintage Giraffe, no makers marks. He was absolutely covered in grime, but cleaned up really nice. I think he's Italian made, thats my guess anyway. The squeaker is positioned in his chest on the front.

Ha! Unfortunately for that excellent idea, there's a tail in the way and its batty crease is too deep.

    Nice!
Killing it with the selections. Thanks for sharing. Love all three of those elephants, and as a group they're formidable. Are they all by the same manufacturer? They look similar in style and vinyl ...

I have the reclining Kewpie too, but I've never seen the sitting version before ... toys sitting down usually look good to me ...
