Well that's extremely shitty of that buyer and of ebay! Wtf?! It's it you that offers the 30 day return or eBay in general? If it's you, can you somehow bit offer any returns on this item and say "As Is" condition and such? Or return on buyers expense..?

And $200?? Did it cost around $100 to ship? Or were there other expenses? That's insane either way!

If you do not offer returns winners will say that the item received was not as stated to justify their return. I've experience this once before and it is absolutely annoying. After I showed eBay the messages the buyer sent me they ended up covering return shipping expenses. The only reason was bc the buyer sent me a message saying the item actually does work but they just don't want it.

Keep in mind this was for a very nice vintage toaster so a lot of time wasted for not a lot of money and many headaches.

One gripe I have with ebay is that you can't laugh react to the listings

It was pretty expensive to ship, yes. I typically offer the 30 day / free returns. But I do this for special cases like damage enroute, misrepresentation (though I never do), etc. Not because some idiot failed to read the description or change their mind. Ebay should get behind me on this one as I listed it honestly and ethically. But, they have become so uber-customer eccentric that sellers are basically taking great risk. That being said, I have removed the returns option altogether so I won't have to experience this again without having some way to explain the situation.

The crazy thing is I called ebay and explained what happened and the first CS rep agreed and said no problem. However, they required me to wait 3 days until the return was initiated and then I could ask them to escalate so they would push this through in MY favor. I waited, called back only to get some other rep telling me NOPE. I was supposed to get a call back from someone in management, but that never happened...

Yeah... that's extremely shitty of the buyer and eBay. I'd still try to fight it personally. Maybe keep calling until you get a hold of a manager? I don't know.

I'm sorry this happened to you though, $200 is a hefty number to lose out on. Hopefully you can still work this out. But yeah, most places seem to side with the customer. Even though, *newsflash* the customer isn't always right!! Gasp* who would have thunk?? Corporations aside with customers all too often because they are afraid of a negative review. But that's how all of these "Karens" gain their power and become so much worse because they know they can get away with it (most of the time).... Companies really need to start backing up their employees (sellers) more and knock these people off of their pedestals...

Little bit of a thread resurrect...

With the proxy/fake eBay posts...have something that I think might be a proxy sale, but haven't had any luck tracking down the original on any Japanese sites.

Anyone have suggestions for where to look for vinyl outside the typical haunts (YJA, Mercari, Rakuten, Mandarake, Amazon)?

Apart from those you listed I’d also check Yahoo! Japan Shopping, Rakuma, and PayPay Flea Market, but just about anywhere toys are sold seems to be a potential channel. I’ve recently seen some Ichibanboshi stock pop up within 48 hours of a shop update. :x
