I heard a recent interview with the writers and they were being asked similar questions. Essentially they said something to the sort that we all know what Walt CAN do. This fucker can do ANYTHING. So by the last episode they didn't think it was worth showing him in his car with 1000 fake sugar packs fucking them up until he got one just right or sneaking around a back yard making distractions. We know the dude can do it. He's Walter god damn White! We've seen him hijack a meth train, rid of bodies, take out a national drug lord, destroy evidence with a magnet, I mean what else? We don't NEED to see it now. It's not about that, we know what he CAN do, now it's about what he's doing as a person.

Interesting, I never saw Walt as that kind of almost superhuman Keyser-Soze-style mastermind - on the contrary, there were enough times when he almost lost it or fucked up royally (*cough*, GPS, *cough*). Also, it was the book from Gale that he had out in the open which ultimately started his downfall. If you really look at the guy, he's a greedy, vain, selfish, hypocritical, murderous sociopath. Far from infallible and very human imo.

Funnily enough, there actually seem to be people out there who claim that Walt died in that snowed-in car, made a deal with the devil etc. BECAUSE THEN IT WOULD ALL MAKE PERFECT SENSE...!!! :D

Yeah he screws up, but he also gets away with an insane amount of crap. I think they cut it because we all know he'd get where he wanted anyway, but only after many blunders we didn't need to really see.

I am looking forward to seeing how the Saul Goodman spinoff is handled. Do you suppose any familiar characters besides Saul is going to make an appearance on the show?

Probably Huel N' the Gang. Is it pre-Walt? I kinda feel that'd be better.

Ha, some nice editing work. Great the way they've linked the WW history to the finale in the song. Thanks for posting it!

I know I'm late to this but I read "Better call Saul" is a prequel but will spill into time during BB. So you will see Walt at some point.

On the fence about the first episode of "Better Call Saul"...

All of the fancy filming angles were too distracting. Also found most of the episode not very interesting. I did enjoy the end and plan to watch a few more episodes.

watched it last night because Lena did wardrobe on it. Funny thing the first section is post BB and he is hiding out somewhere out of state. Funny thing about that though is that Cinnabon sequence was filmed at the westside mall in ABQ lol my friend Michelle used to work there lol

Yeah, he was heading to Nebraska during his relocation project. He even mentioned how he won't be going with Walter, wherever he was going, as he's gonna be a manager at Cinnabon in Omaha. Them clever tv folk call that a callback, I believe..

On a serious note, I like the tone of this spinoff and believe it will succeed. Odenkirk is very good and the writing team from BB is as clever as ever. The tie-ins will keep the BB fans checking in, but it should be able to hold its own.

    Things are picking up now...

That desert scene between Tuco and Saul was equally stressful and hilarious. Saul really is a great lawyer!

While it was an intense scene, I'm sure we can all agree that Saul's life wasn't about to end.....
