    Hey guys

I have come across this variant and checked clubtokyo but the site doesnt show the bottom of the feet. This one mirrors the hawaii spray bullmark but it has a SAN stamp on the bottom. Does the hawaii spray bullmark have a san stamp? Or is this a rare marusan variant... Thanks all.

I don't know for sure about the stamps necessarily, but I wouldn't count on this being some kind of rare variant. As far as I know, the great majority of the 'Hawaii' figures, were ones that were generally left over from the Japanese market, and painted up in the new Hawaii colour schemes for export. Thus, it could well be it was just a figure that started out his life as a regular Marusan one. There are so many variants on stamping with the Gojis, it wouldn't be a surprise at all. Furthermore too, I would just mention (for what it's worth) that toy sellers of this sort of thing know what they are doing as a rule. They are almost always incredibly informed, and can tell you a great deal about a toy. In that way, stumbling upon some kind of über rare variant - in any kind of toy shop like this - and expecting to get a crazy deal on some ultra scarce grail, is pretty unlikely. I am not saying it would never happen, but take every find with a grain of salt, especially when shelling out big money for vintage toys.

I'm sure others more experienced than me can chime in, but the colors just don't seem to match a Hawaiian version. Looks to just be a "standard" Marusan version.

Hawaii are only on Bullmark figures. This is not the hawaii spray pattern either.

Just for future reference, here's my Hawaiian Bullmark Godzilla. Has a very dark green base coat with metallic green spray. Also has gold spray on the fins. The other Hawaiian Bullmark has a flesh base with blue spray on it.

On the bottom pic, L-R, Marusan, Bullmark, and Hawaiian Bullmark.

Gorgeous. The Hawaiian spray's my favorite of all the vintage color schemes!
