The Great Garloo has been fully revealed. Love that Justin went with the original Marx box design, as opposed to bag and header. It’s still wild to know this is an officially licensed Marx Toys product, which I’m more than sure Ken, Knuckle and Justin are all crazy stoked about. I’ll save my gushing for when/if I get my hands on one. I have an appointment at the release time. Spoiler
Looking good! I was hoping for more of a blocky head, i.e. more chin and jaw, but I accept that's not really the Headlock style. Still deciding on this one.
I’m still getting a bit of the blocky jawline and square - ish face, but I think the glossiness and smoothness of the vinyl hides it a little. I’m definitely shootin’ for it. The expression on its face reads slightly more menacing than even the 60’s robotic to me.
Absolutely love the packaging, and i think the sculpt is fun and translates well. Hoping to get my hands on one of these.

Nice that they referenced the original (medallion on string, chain bracelet, sandals and, of course, the leopard loincloth) I think the face is very Great Garloo, with a hint of HLS. Son of Garloo also deviates from the original, so a bit of variety isn't bad. @xSuicide Squadx totally agree on the box design - a special touch - only issue being it will be tempting to display him with the box beside/behind which takes up valuable space!
I think you're right. The combination of a glossy finish and lighting make Garloo's facial features appear to be a lot softer. They look much sharper here: Based on the most recent video on Justin's IG it looks like they really nailed the colors. Sold out quick but not so fast that people who really wanted one and were at the ready didn't have a chance.
Went for it too. Nice to see a fast sellout, and I'm glad there's perhaps precedent for a Son mini down the road. The body texture and bulkier arms sold me.
I scored one. They were up for a good three minutes. So, pretty easy drop. I'll be counting the seconds during an mvh drop and I'll usually get cart jacked at about 45 seconds.

I missed this too, I was busy with fatherly duties. Congrats to the weiners. I do wish the chest was a little thicker so the body closer matched the original.
@Mr Fox I wholeheartedly agree that the box is somethin’ special enough to serve as its own display piece, even more so with the Garloo figure. I mean, the HLS Garloo stands out pretty heavily from its predecessors of the Kustom Monster line, so that, too, could be displayed on its own! @HBCoffin Thank you for getting that story screen cap and bringin’ it here! I saw the post, but didn’t think to use it as a visual! But the angular shapes of the face are much more pronounced in that shadowed window of the box. Especially the jaw and cheeks! Son of Garloo would be fun, but I don’t know if they’d make a whole new sculpt for that, or simply downsize this current version. Either way, it’d be really awesome to have the full size/mini combination that Lil’ Diablo, Franky, Oculus, Ken and Knuckle Kun have seen. Great pairings.
Since the full reveal, I've wracked my brain several times trying to figure out who the face sculpt so very much reminds me of. I still don't know, and don't know whether it's an actor or someone from my personal history. Driving me mildly nuts. In any case, a cool take on this toy icon, and congrats & enjoy to those who scored.
