Some Japanese words do not have an exact english translation and can have a range of similar explanation. In the case of rakugaki to vinyl toys that we collect it generally means to perform your own custom to it whether painting or simply drawing on it with a marker. The color of the vinyl does not matter as long as it's blank.

It'a tribute to the marusan rakugaki series. The vinyl was light blue and each toy came with a color set to customize it.

This is actually the first instance that I learned the term "Rakugaki". Great game indeed!
That, and then Onitsuka came out with a pair of "Rakugaki" Tigers that had "doodle" like stitching. They were pretty cool.
Doodling is the best.

I think i wanted that mini set more than any of the big ones released recently (besides the King ), but looks like i am a loser again. Fingers crossed and still going to compulsively check my spam folders for the next 2 days...
