Well I'd meet you for a bite to eat and a beer but I think I'd blow whatever I have in my bank account going to Japan now. I did recently research shops though thinking hard about it. In my future (hopefully near) though. Kinda jealous @michael

I signed up for a Tenso account today which gives me a Japanese mailing address. Now that you will be there next month, you shall be my Japanese contact. Congratulations. You're hired. Please send me as much Pocari Sweat as possible.

Did you get a rail pass for the shinkansen? It's really the cheapest way to get around. Have a blast!

Be sure to get your train passes in order. The little prep can save time and headaches. Osaka is one of my favorite food places ever

If nobody here needs the call. I have some friends there that could show you around.

Get a pocket wifi while you're there. Two if you're going to be apart a lot. I use eConnect.

If you are heading to Astrozombies, there are quite a few interesting shops, toys and otherwise, located nearby (and sort of near) in Den-Den town. Not all easy to find, but then, that is the mystery of Japan for you. Obviously the two Mandarake's are worth a good afternoon's browse as well. And excellent bars and eats abound of course.

Bring or buy a coin purse. You will be thankful to have one.

Wow. We must be really spoiled here in San Francisco because Pocari Sweat is pretty easy to find out here.

My girlfriend got a sweet cat fish shaped coin purse out of a gachapon the first day we got to Tokyo last time.

    Cool story, I know

If I was going, like I was supposed to, I could take you on the wildest tour of Tokyo you've ever been on.

Instead we're going to France, Germany, Amsterdam, Switzerland, Belgium, Dubai and Taiwan for "Roller Derby shit."

Wish I was going to Tokyo this year. Tokyo is insane.

Hah. I logged on here to post about coin purses but Bert beat me to it. Seriously good suggestion.

Get to Tsukiji Market for fresh and cheapass scallop and sushi before it closes and shifts out. Great place. Pity it ain't gonna be there anymore.

A one-time trip to Japan is never enough if you ask me.
