Just wondering what people use and if there are issues. I have comcast and live in San Jose by Campbell. My internet connection (without fail) will go out at least once a day. Sometimes for a few hours. It's fucking annoying.

I was wondering what people use in San Jose because at this point I'm pretty fed up.

i use AT&T in oakland, they're a nightmare to deal with, but once the service is on, it's super reliable.

after 3 years in my last apartment, it never really went down, but they suddenly throttled me down to 1/4 speed without notice, and i don't even stream movies. no idea why, but i knew i was moving anyways. now i'm closer to downtown, and on the fiber net now, but it took suffering through a month with no service at all, and half a grand before the dust settled.

    kill whitey, yo.

I use Comcast's Internet service with power blast. It's good, but reliable streaming still requires a wired connection to their cable.
It often goes out, but thankfully, only around 4-5am.

Okay thank those help. Once again internet is down and I'm at fucking starbucks. It shut off at like 1217 and has not gone on. I have a new router and modem and I'm at wits end.

I called and they said it's working on their end but sorry. I'm no genius but I know how to get onto the internet and it's not fucking working.

See I don't know what it keeps happening. Last night was like a 6 hour outage. Literally I have a new mac, a new router, modem etc and zero.

    I was going livid.

Have they investigated whether the problem is on the transmission lines and equipment closer to your location? Since the signal goes over existing cable TV lines, I imagine capacity would be an issue as well as aging infrastructure.

In Mt. View, the service would go out regularly at 2 am or so, but would generally be restored by the following morning.

I have Comcast and while sometimes it's slower than I would like at peak hours, i don't remember having any outages. i've had Comcast for a few years now.

Something is definitely wrong with your connection.
