I see this as more of an OriginalFake release and not really "KAWS." Fashion brands sell crap like this all the time, for example Supreme playing cards or Coach sporting gear, for the "hypebeasts." Just trying to milk the brand name as much as possible...

I can't believe they're acutally licensed products. Who the hell wants to blow 600+ bucks on some stupid candles?

 

We pay hundreds and thousands of dollars for pieces of vinyl that just sit there. Candles have functional use

call me crazy, but im reading this as if you spend 50,000 Yen or more in the store you get this for free, kind of like how they did the toupe bags.

I have to agree this reads as a give away for a certain yen amount of purchase.

And if you want Missoni candles, they can get into the thousands.

folks who posted above regarding purchase are correct. these are "omake" or a gift to those who spend over the specified amount. they don't cost 50,000Y. so, if you're an OF fan and plan on making a large purchase on gear while you're there anyway, it's a gift.

that would be insane if they were for sale at 50,000Y...

yeah, i'm not disagreeing that it's an odd gift. but eh, at least they're big? lol. i mean, i think the last gift with purchase they gave out were those OF Bicycle playing cards. i guess those are useful and the purchase threshold was lower, 10,000Y.
