New Gargamel Figs!

Ikeda sounds a bit pissed off Gargamel weren't selected for the next Wonderfest and at the arrogance of the Kaiyodo staffers, so they're thinking of not going anymore and concentrating on other events.

 

I think he is right to be pissed. There are many flipper booths that sell nearly nothing and the organizers let some through while barring legitimate makers like gargamel who have been joining since ages!
Its a pity as WF is already getting weak on the sofubi side.

They're nice, but pricey. Don't know how they'll fare in what is bound to be a very competitive market. I for one love SDs, but would never pay 2500yen for one, resin or not, when you can grab almost identical keshis and gacha for 100yen (or less if you get lots).

 

Glad that the actual items will be painted in full color, similar to the Microman vinyls.

The blog says they are planning to make 100 pieces of each, so that seems like a good amount. We'll see.

The SD Musha resin is a cool surprise too.

 

The packaging really ties these together as well. I think they really hit the target on these making them look really over that period:

Thanks again Rob for the info! He/she (an "intersex" character) is the second one on screen in the 1st episode of Mazinger Z, so didn't have to go through much trouble. And here it is in MIB. Glad it's not available anywhere or I'd be tempted. Gender confusion seems to make great toys. End of derail.

 

Oh so stoked these are coming out. Saw the sculpts. Looks amazing. They are working on a new Killer with guts too soon. I want that scopedog.

Got L-Gaim,Scopedog and the Mushu resin today. Man these are so damn nice!:

Awesome pics dokuroking - I actually just got around to busting out my Scopedog and Mushu resin last night and I was blown away at the quality these small sculpts possess, ESPECIALLY the Mushu resin with removable swords

 

Agreed the swords fit perfectly and it's some of the cleanest cast resin I've seen in person.
