^ I was thinking the same thing. I guess social media is fine for those really into it, but that is kinda why I am a member of Skullbrain. I don't really want to have to hunt around a million other sites just to see photos, isn't it bad enough we have to religiously hunt blogs and toy shops for release info? Anyways, different generation I suppose. I'll stick to the place I know.
I'm in the same boat. I don't follow everyone that's on this board, just as I'm sure they don't follow me on social networking. I find the boards to be one cohesive spot for everyone to share their excitement and pickups, as opposed to having to search for hashtags or profiles. That being said, I definitely hope to see this thread visually expand with all the awesome stuff people picked up and people they met!
For me I was just excited to get a few new Karz Works figures. The new insect monster is just crazy. Definitely toy of the con in my mind. NYCC haul by Splurrt, on Flickr NYCC haul by Splurrt, on Flickr
Man, I wanted one of those swirled skulls and they were pretty cheap. Shouldve asked someone, ha! I didnt know Rich had Sam blanks, so cool!
Wow! You guys picked up some choice pieces! Evom, that MVH looks fantastic. That color green shows a ton of detail, even in a photo! Joe, that red Debris is swoon worthy. I can only imagine how bad ass that guy looks in person. What's the story on that blue rabbit guy on the right, if. I may?
Glad to see some new Karz Works toys. That insect guy looks massive. I'm pretty jealous of the unpainted Sam Heinous too. I'm hoping the Slime Bat and Teenage Randall didn't sell out. Those are 2 I'd like to get and are great unpainted colors.
I bought a Pushead toy or two. That said... when I saw Rich post this on his Instagram, I knew it would perfectly match my girlfriend's tastes, so I asked a friend to help me score one. This is Julia's first vinyl toy. I think it's a good way to start a collection. Oh. And she's already started asking about other MVH toys. Might have created a monster.
I feel that this con has been much more hush-hush than past iterations. Or it could be that everyone is traveling home right now and not yet with proper internet access, hahha. Speaking of MVH, did anyone ask, Rich about the status on the Krawluss toy? Now that he's a dad production is going to get much slower. Nothing wrong with that, I'm just curious. The heads turned out killer, but such a small release really made it hard to score I assume. Grats to those who did.
That's pretty much it. Other than that, Instagram is quite accessible on the go, being able to post shots right when they're taken. I have tons of pics I took (a lot already on instagram.. brobles24) but when I get settled i'll post more pics on their respective threads.
Not to derail this thread, but all pre order vinyl is in transit from Japan. So it's almost ready to go out. And no, production will not slow down. I'm trying to go full time, so when that happens things will be even better. There ya go
No hush-hush. Just not many sofubi bloggers around besides our one and only holy Andy. Running my own booth and buying toys was hectic enough for me.. Off coarse internet access at the con sucked. And by the time i got back to my place laying down was my only option.. I was able to shoot a lot of pictures of my own booth that I will share tomorrow!
