Pandemics seem to be getting more regular. I'm a hand washer. Everything freaks me out after I started to observe people in public bathrooms. Too many times I'd see men flush, then hold their privates, and then walk out without washing. Absolutely backwards. Touching money, door handles, railings all freak me out. Hoping this gets shut down soon. Too many will suffer great emotional loss. Be safe people. And as John said, "Don't be a racist". Now I am off to the gym. Ugh.
I’m really hoping that this won’t become worse than the flu. The flu killed an estimated 32,000 people during the 2018-2019 flu season. Only problem is that the flu has a vaccine (doesn’t cover all strains, but better than nothing) and this coronavirus still is isolated to hot spots, for now... I don’t think we’re at a point where we can properly estimate the potential damage it could do. All I know for sure is for the past week all of my dreams have been post-apocalyptic. Maybe I’m subconsciously terrified?
I think this is a real email from Dr. Robb, even though I can’t prove it. Sounds like the most informed, sensible and useful information out there. Hope this helps. https://slippedisc.com/2020/03/some-expert-advice-on-coronavirus/
Good advice, thank you for sharing! Heck, just trying to buy supplies now is difficult. Target, Walgreens, CVS, Costco -- can't find paper towels, TP, or facial tissue. Having a humongous Amz order shipped to work, to annoy the poor post lady who has to lug all this stuff up the elevator, and then I'll lug it back down the elevator. Strange times we are living in...
Stay in and don't wander around. You have AC, television and WiFi as your friends. https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsa...ke-on-coronavirus-even-mahjong-gets-a-mention Have a bite of a wild animal dish today, see you in hell tomorrow
Maybe I am crazy or I am very conspiranoid, but I feel that all this of Coronavirus is being overstated, I do not think it is as serious as the government wants to make us see, on the other hand I was seeing on the internet that in Cuba they have a medicine for treat it, So I hope I am not wrong but I feel that there is no point in people being crazy doing emergency shopping.
Well apparently there's a case about two suburbs away from my workplace - a student from one of the busiest universities in Brisbane. People have already been panic buying the past couple of days due to local news fear-mongering.. shopping for groceries tonight is going to be annoying I'm sure. Maybe if people are crowding the shelves being greedy i'll just cough in their direction to make some space? So yeah - been nice knowing you all the pandemic is HERE aagahagaghgahhghghg... Nah it's all good, if I catch the coronavirus I'll just eat a couple of Big Macs and take a huge shit to expel it from my system. Bingo bango done.
Working on some new material for my new stand-up show "Ya Gotta be Coviddin' Me!!": "Why is everyone a fan of Covid atm? Frankly I prefer the works of Euripides - much 'denser' than Metamorphoses" "I heard that Corona-Poos need special 5-ply toilet paper so sucked in if you bought the regular stuff suckas" "Yo I heard Culture Kings have that spezial Air Jordan toilet paper in bulk for the poo-pocalypse" "Good thing I do ghost-poos so I don't even need one sheet of toilet paper for the rest of my goddamn life!!!" "True OG Doomsday Preppers must be calling out a bunch of you poseurs right now" I got a solid half an hour of this shit
A friend of mine works at the airport - on a regular basis, she is handed passports straight from the mouth of the traveller. Yes, you read that right, the person is using their hands for holding other things, so chooses to place said passport in their mouth, then removes it when asked, passing it to her with the 'wet end' where she has to take hold of it. Hmmn... I wonder why the virus is spreading when many have the hygiene level of a boglin. Awhile back I had the pleasure of watching a teenager sneeze into his hand and then use the public stair railing as a place to deposit his slime trail; I could go on but if common sense (and hygiene) were common, we wouldn't be where we are now...
On the opposite end of the stupid-spectrum, last night I watched a man put a head of PLASTIC-WRAPPED cauliflower INTO A PLASTIC BAG!
^^^ Unconected . . . but I like the way the 'Play' button gives Matt Johnson a big-old Hitler toothbrush moustache!
@Roger This is so funny that you post this clip. I finally watched this episode last night (great, as usual). After, I went and told my wife how unnerving it is that I learned more about this virus and how to work through it from a 30-minute comedy show than from my own government, president and people associated with the various federal medical offices... Sad, sad state of affairs, aint it.
The grocery store was mobbed on Sunday like I havent seen in ages. I am in the New York City metropolitan area. Are people panicking? I work in a county that is considered "high risk" as well, due to the population demographics. Luckily, I dont work in a customer facing office, so it's just me and my coworkers.
Costco has run out of: rice, toilet paper, bleach, Lysol, hand sanitizers, bottled water... And this is CT, we don’t even have the coronavirus yet.
I know here in Brisbane there's a bunch of people either reselling this shit locally or sending things in bulk to China. Looks like there's grocery mules now fellas
Little anxious about Creature Bazaar travel since it means I would have to work remotely for two weeks after, and I don't know if that will fly with my boss. But otherwise not too worried. As sad as I am to be so far away from my family most of the time, the plus side is I can't really infect infants and the elderly as long as I'm careful.
As stated, most of us here- and our children, for those of us who have kids- probably don't have that much to worry about. But a huge swath of the population may be badly affected. For example, if my mom, who is 70, has congestive heart failure, and lives in one of the most populous states, came into contact with it... that would be terrible. We all have older/infirm family members... it seems they're the ones we need to be concerned for, in this. Interesting short read here.
