I just found out that Gabriel Marquez sadly passed away recently. I think it was a few weeks ago actually but I just found out via an email from Bottleneck Gallery, who sells his resin toys. I know he had cancer at some point but not sure exactly what happened. He recently became very well-known for his Shin CookieZilla resin figure and got mentioned in the Sofvi Bootleg Scumbags thread in a discussion about how Akamenteshi ripped off his design. He did a lot more than just CookieZilla though, his sculpting skills were incredible and he created so many amazing pieces. I didn't know him personally but I followed his work and always enjoyed his posts, and I think a lot of other 'brainers might follow him too. Rest in peace! Sad news to hear this. While his work was not something I collect, definitely can appreciate the impressive skill and vision that went into his creations. Condolences to all his friends, family, and loved ones.
